It started with check in, we were not assigned the room we paid for. When we got the assigned floor the carpets were wet and the room was old. We went to front counter and showed the front desk the room we thought we upgraded to, they said that we paid for a partial ocean view and if we wanted an ocean view we had to pay an additional $64 per night. We were assigned a different room with parking lot view.

Holiday Inn Aruba is in a great spot—right on Palm Beach with tons of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The staff was consistently friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. As for the hotel itself, it’s simple and on the more basic side. Clean and functional, but nothing luxurious or memorable about the rooms or amenities. Overall, a good place to stay if you care more about location than a high-end hotel experience. Only hiccup was the misunderstanding between ocean view and ocean front . My room barely had a view of the ocean, the lady I spoke to was rude and firm that she would not change my room .
