The experience would have been better if we were told ahead of time about the construction which was non-stop from 8-6 making It impossible to relax even on the beach or pool. When we asked about It at the front desk we were told It wasnt happening on the weekends but It was! Very disappointing.

This was my 6th time at this resort and by far the worse. Half the hotel under construction jack hammering all day long. The first room I was given I wouldn't take it; the second room was a little better. Dirty a/c vents cracked tiles when we would unplug something from the wall the cover plate would fall off showing bare electrical terminals. Then the elevator stopped working my last three days there. either walk up 4 flights or take the small service elevator with other guests and service staff, maintenance people dirty laundry, anyway very disappointed.

This is probably the first and last time I ever go to this resort. There was no heads up about construction and tearing down buildings. The noise was ridiculous and out-of-control. Elevators were always out. Rooms were not clean and stunk of mold and mildew, air conditioning sounds like a motorcycle speeding down the highway. Asked to have it serviced it never was. Sheets and comforters were stained.

This was an awful trip. Most everything in our room was broken. If you tried to call the operator, there was no answer. It took several calls to fix things in our room. The food was average, at best.

Riu was under MAJOR CONSTRUCTION as was the Hilton next door! At no point were we notified of this happening. Expedia never said a word and we called the corp office of Riu several times. It continued all day!!!! There was an entire building renovation which was dusty, noisy and inconvenient. This was our worst trip to a Riu Hotel. We were in a 2 bedroom timeshare that sometimes got towels and sometimes didn’t! The service and staff was just okay. The food was just okay, expectation of the Riu were higher than that. We experienced many people complaining during our 5 night stay to say the least. I will be contacting the corporate office and complaining. This is not acceptable to travel so far and spend so much money and not once be told of the construction. I expect some kind of Compensation immediately.

I did not know that there are ongoing constructions that start at 7:00 AM (sometimes earlier), and jack Hammering all Day long, when we booked, we wanted the Adults section, however Expedia site had that Section under construction, so we booked the family section, just to find out Expedia was wrong (something I heard from a few other guests), so my 3 Stars is because of the wrong info and the constant noise of construction

We were so disappointed with the entire stay. The first two days our room didn’t have hot water, the phone was broken , there was dust in the halls from the top floor (we have two toddlers so this was ten times worse). We asked to change rooms and they changed us to the main building . The room was bigger and better, however the couch had molding on it and the smell was awful . Outside we couldn’t even enjoy the pool, because they are were doing construction from 7am-6pm. The food was okay this time around . Sadly to say we won’t be coming back here . For much how it cost not worth it.
