Room was fine , just restaurant was extremely slow and was not busy 1 hour wait for 4 breakfasts, seemed to be getting out room service or Togo orders before seated guests … accidentally left a extremely sentimental necklace in bathroom hanging on the shower door ( had moms ashes in it) and called hotel and stopped back but no one knew of anything turned in Very sad if someone would steal ashes

The room was clean, and front desk was helpful. The restaurant was great from the food to the service. For my room service order, since I am a vegetarian, I modified eggs Benedict to substitute sliced tomatoes for Canadian bacon, but when it was delivered, the container was basically in it side, so it was a mess. There was no tomato, and it still had bacon. There was no utensils, even though I requested them. When I got on the very full elevator to leave, a hotel employee got on a started complaining to another employee about the hotel. The second employee did not engage. When the second employee got off the elevator the first employee continued to complain to the guests.

We had an excellent Stay at Norfolk Waterside Marriott. The view from our room was brilliant. We need to say a special Thank You to Caroline on the front desk. Because of the weather we had to stay extra days and she was so good at helping us. Caroline is a true asset Norfolk Waterside Marriott.

The hotel offered free parking for travelers taking the cruise from Norfolk but did not inform me until my arrival date and no rooms with the free service were available. Cost me $100 for parking 10 miles from the hotel.

The room was completely neglected. While the General Manager, Casey, along with the supervisor and the maintenance engineer were courteous and genuinely apologetic, the rest of the staff was the complete opposite. The staff we encountered was unfriendly, condescending, rude, mean-spirited, and highly unprofessional. We were harassed, teased, misled, and given incorrect information, which only worsened an already painful situation. At the time of our stay, we were mourning and coping with significant grief due to the recent loss of several loved ones. The staff showed absolutely no compassion or sensitivity to what we were going through, nor did they seem to care. Because of this experience, I will never book with this hotel again unless there are major renovations and the three staff members we encountered are removed or properly retrained to address their unacceptable and abrasive behavior.
