Easy check-in, large comfortable bed, good walk-in shower. Surprised that there were no designated blue badge parking spaces. Both bedroom and bathroom could do with shelves or hooks for coats, towels, etc. Our upstairs neighbours made a lot of noise moving around, even during the night

Only one thing to say

Overall, we had a good time, only thing was the breakfast dish, plates came right after washed in dishwasher and it was extremely hot. There were few adult men in front and behind me also they struggled to hold for even a second. If there was a child, definitely they burnt themselves. Therefore I gave 3 stars for service. This can be easily improved.

Revamped room which was good but furniture in room old and stained, the hall leading to the room was bare plaster, we didn’t realise we had stairs to climb to the room, the manager in the breakfast room was miserable, so not really what we expected for the price

Wensum, fantastic

It was perfect, very very clean, lovely comfy bed, fan, hairdryer. Very modern bathroom. ALL the staff were lovely and friendly, Beautiful restaurant with stunning views.

Excellent experience.

Our stay exceeded our expectations. The welcome at reception was friendly and efficient. Our room was very clean and well maintained given the hotels age, the bathroom looked as though it had been recently refurbished with a large walk in shower and modern toilet. The organisation and service at the evening reception we attended was exceptional, plenty of staff serving and constantly clearing.

Outside areas and golf course attractive, friendly gardener clearly taking pride in his work. Reasonable rates for driving range. Inside is like stepping back in time, however it’s clear to see current renovation efforts. Bar the friendly gardener, staff lacked customer service. One hopes to be greeted with a smile and warm welcome, whether it’s the first or last check-in, which albeit I had already done online, just a key needed and just a key was given. Upon check-in our room door was still open with dirty bedsheets on the floor ready for laundry. Bins had not been emptied, previous occupants towels in the bathroom. Toilet has not been cleaned and a used wet flannel still hung in the shower. This was rectified promptly after a quick visit to ‘welcoming’ reception. Shower gel marks on shower still remained. We felt fortunate to be allocated a room with a newly refurbished bathroom, the shower was hot and powerful and plenty of towels provided for a family of three, however no bathroom rail to hang them or toilet roll holder or additional rolls. Bed linen all appeared clean bar the decorative throw which had stains on. T.v remote was covered in sticky substance 😣 Room temp at night was hotter than a thousand suns, two fans were provided. £150 without breakfast felt hefty but all in all the swimming pool and outdoor facilities and a nice sandwich at the bar made it enjoyable.

Wensum Valley

Nice convenient location for weekend break with pool and gym factories very welcome. Picturesque setting with golf course, and friendly restaurant staff made for a nice stay. Not far from Great Yarmouth for beach stroll, and also from Norwich city centre for evenings out
