Atlantic Waves - 7 Bedroom, 6.5 Bath House, Dog Friendly, Sleeps 24

7 Bedrooms 6.5 bathrooms with unobstructed views of the ocean and an elevated swimming pool (can be heated for an additional fee). Located next to Southern Comfort, another 7 Bedroom 6.5 bath twin home. What sets this home apart is its location. There is privacy, it is quiet without the hustle and bustle of traffic going by, and the added enjoyment of the marsh views. This home features two dishwashers, refrigerators, microwaves, living rooms, and two sets of washers and dryers. The property features a charcoal grill, additional parking for your boat or extra guests, and an elevator to all floors. The island has plenty to offer and things to do. It has a golf course, mini-golf, arcade, restaurants, ice cream shops, grocery stores, a splash pad for the kids, parks, fishing either onshore or one of our piers, nature trails, multiple beach accesses, inlet access, and Intracoastal Waterway accesses as well. This home is not far from the new bridge, which allows easy access on and off the island. You can go and enjoy the shops and dining of close by Southport nestled in where the Cape Fear River, Intracoastal Waterway, and the ocean meet. The views are breathtaking. From there you can take a ferry either to beautiful Bald Head Island for a day trip or a ferry to Fort Fisher and visit the aquarium. The North Carolina Battleship is a favorite destination in nearby Wilmington and Myrtle Beach is just south for even more to do.

Oak Island - A new place for our vacation

For such a beautiful home, we were very disappointed in the quality of the beds and pillows. Very old and uncomfortable. Shams and quilt had not been cleaned. The hot water lasts maybe 2 minutes. A bug issue in the kitchen. Very disappointed. Loved the location.

Family gathering

We gather each summer at different beaches, as we come from Va, Ky and NC. The ocean views were great and the back porch also wonderful for gathering. The elevator is convenient for loading and unloading. The kids enjoyed the pool when not at the beach and this balanced their time. The house has dated furniture, as if they are used… the kitchen is grossly under supplied with usual cooking appliances and pans/supplies, particularly if one wants to do more cooking. Given the limited restaurants for carry out or eating, that made the stay challenging. There is only a shared grill withe the sister home which is odd and awkward. Why not have a grill and make it more private for both sites? The pillow shams hadn’t been washed recently , which left a tainted feeling with the bed. Overall we had a good time and the house has great potential but needs more investment with accessories.
