The Moonlight manor is a themed 5 bed 2 bath based out of a 150-year-old Victorian mansion in the heart of Oakland. Christina, the creative director and hostess recently had a son and decided to open her home to support her family! With experience in Costume design and Stagecraft, we bring to you a themed hideaway experience! Go camping indoors, jump back in time to the 1920s, or enter the world of Beetlejuice. Adventure waits!

Harry Potter Bday Extravaganza Was dreamy

I don't have words to explain how gorgeous the whole experience was. From the booking (Owner is awesome) to the arrival (Inn keeper is THE sweetest guy) to the magical overnight, the camping room joy with kids, the speakeasy vibe, care, and accommodations. Can't wait to book it again for adult mystery dinner party (kid free next time) so I can truly enjoy every single creative corner at this spot! Thanks!

Cool house!

The innkeeper was incredible and was SO helpful with everything! The house was really detailed and my kids loved it! Our only issue was that it didn’t feel very clean. My mom ended up cleaning the inside of the microwave while we were there and a lot of the kitchen and bathrooms could have used a deep clean. It really felt like a “fun house” and not a proper vacation/short term rental. I don’t think that I would stay here again as a vacation rental, but I would definitely recommend it to EVERYONE for a fun Halloween themed party!! So creative and such a fun house!

Epically Spooky Experience

We loved the house! The decorations were awesome, and the historical nature of the house made for an even greater spooky experience, especially walking around the house in the middle of the night. There was even a friendly neighborhood crow that hung out with us on the porch for a bit. The host communicated well, and I would definitely recommend this house to anyone that has an appreciation for the strange and unusual. The beds were also super comfy, which is always a plus.

Fun and Fantastical

What a fun house with so many amazing details. We had a great time exploring the house and enjoying the decor. The rooms were all comfortable and the bathrooms were gorgeous. There was nowhere for all of us to sit comfortably together and chill but we ended up on the floor in the beetle juice room at night and on the beds in the front bedroom for coffee in the morning. So glad to know about this unique spot!

One of a kind rental!

I booked this property for my wedding party to stay at for 2 nights. Each room was beautiful, detail-oriented, and unique. Everyone slept comfortably and was charmed by how special each room felt. It’s clear a lot of love and care was put into this place. Check in was seamless and painless. It made for beautiful photos and set a fun tone for everyone. All in all, I would recommend and may return again in the future for special events.

Great Thanksgiving and birthday treat.

Wow, what an amazing house for a funky, and wonderful stay. So much detail that kept noticing things throughout the stay. Extra bonus was how nice the beds, and especially the comforters are. Would 100% book again.

Unique and fun

what an interesting and fun place! My friends and I renjoyed the decor and all of the different fun rooms. The neighborhood felt pretty safe and the owners were quick to respond and helpful. Definitely a fun experience at a great rate!

Amazing house! Wonderful Owner

Thanks for taking such good care of my family. I’m very sorry I wasn’t able to come. This is what Sarah has to say about the place. “This was probably the most creative house I have ever seen. A lot of amazing details were around every corner and more than likely I missed some of them. Although there were a lot of nooks and crannies and details filling in every area, the house was very clean and maintained. And Christina was a dream to work with and very accommodating. We met some of the neighbors who know Christina and they were nice and helpful”

Wedding weekend

We had an absolute blast ! A group of us were in town for a friends wedding and this house was another great memory for the weekend. The details through out the house was like scavenger hunt for the whole group. Moonlight Manor was big enough and comfy enough for all of us. Added a spooky element to our weekend. Everyone in our party was absolutely taken aback from all the beautiful work they put into the place ! I was lucky enough to spend the night in the camping room. And loved it so much! You guys are so talented ! If I ever go back to the Bay Area for another event, I wanna go back here !

Beautiful, unique stay

We loved staying at Christina's amazing home! There were so many personal touches, it made for the perfect one of a kind experience. The dining display was especially beautiful! Christina was very attentive and quickly responded to all of my messages. There was plenty of parking out front, and it was easy to get downtown.
