The pool is part of the restaurant - you can't just hang out by the pool and eat your own snacks as you can at most hotels. I learned this right before checking in and ended up not checking in going somewhere else.

Inconvenient parking

Only public parking was available and had to pay 12:00am every night. Very inconvenient. Public parking is all full on the weekend. Also resort fees were not included on the price.

This property is perfectly appointed and located directly across the street from the Oceanside beach pier. Customer service is outstanding and the decor and cleanliness were impeccable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Management needs to review all rooms, some lights not working. Cleaning staff moves personal items - difficult to find when you return. wine glasses should be in rooms at all times, front staff poorly trained - some were great others did not provide accurate info. Taking a $1500 deposit on credit card and not telling you was concerning. This is a 3 star hotel. Valet area is great- excellent service!! Lamb sausage on mezze tray at rooftop is inedible. In room coffee is terrible, need to substitute w a Keurig and provide cream/milk. Beach area was not explained to us, should share more info on amenities when you check in - resort fee $50/day doesn’t get you much if you don’t know about the options. Was told we had to book beach chairs/umbrella 24 hrs in advance and next day another front desk person said you don’t have to book them ?? Reserved signs on chaise near pool but we were told you can’t reserve seats there?? Won’t stay again. Love the area, check out Springhill Suites instead! Great bands play at their outdoor lounge area!

This hotel is amazing. Across the street from the beach, beautifully decorated, and amazing restaurants. Do NOT use Expedia for booking though. They price gouge badly and you pay double what you would booking through the hotel. I will never use Expedia again.

Resort is perfect for couples, modern decor enthusiasts, convenience to the pier, nice rooftop & pool bar. But for a family of four, we prefer their sister hotel, The Seabird.

Mission Pacific Beach Resort: My biggest compliment is that the hotel staff was super great. The property was clean overall. The rooms were nothing special. I thought there was a lot of wasted seating bench space that could have had drawers in for more clothing. The beds were so-so and there were plenty of pillows, but they were all the same (not soft-hard options). We stayed 7 days which evidently is longer than most people. Asked for daily complimentary housekeeping but had to ask for it 3 different days. There is no free breakfast. The drinks in the main floor bar are expensive $16 for a rum and coke). We never ate at the hotel as we didn’t care for the options. The Rooftop Bar is open to the public so always very busy. We walked through once but it seemed so pretentious that we didn’t stay. Small plate options are expensive and suggestive of rich wanna-be hipsters. Plus the rooftop pool is up past all the bar areas and not a lot of room. Cabanas cover all the seating so don’t expect to get a suntan. It was always full. We had a room on the north end of the building with an ocean view. We spent a lot of time out there just people watching. The area is very walkable. On Thursdays there is a Farmers Market nearby in the morning and a street festival in the evenings that is great. We chose the parking for $51/day just so we could have a car if we needed it. The valets did a good job. My takeaway: if you are over 55, this might not be the place for you!
