Due to flight delays we ended up flying all night. Between flights I called the hotel to let them know we wouldn’t be arriving until early morning to shower and sleep for a few hours before check-out. I had already been charged for the room. The first 2 times I called I was hung up on. They said it would be up to the morning shift whether there was a room for us or not, even though I’d already paid, because the reservation would be canceled if we didn’t show up that night. I asked to speak to a manager and was told they were gone. I requested a refund if they weren’t going to hold a room for us but they said that has to go through hotels.com. After almost 10 minutes I finally convinced him to at least leave a note for the morning shift explaining that I had called but still no guarantee we’d have a room. I called Hotels.com but they couldn’t reach anyone at the hotel to confirm my story so they had to escalate it and said it would be 24-72 hours. Meanwhile, we had to make other arrangements bc I wasn’t going to pay for an Uber to a hotel (we would arrive outside their shuttle hours) that may or may not hold a room I’d already paid for after unexpectedly flying all night long and then have to find another alternative and have to Uber to the next place. Very disappointing experience all around.
