First let me clarify that this was my first stay at Veranda Cottages and I did love the resort. The friendly staff, beach access, the large swimming pool area and the nightly activities were very nice. However, at this price point, I expected more. Here are some of the issues we faced during our stay: 1) The Wi-Fi password was not listed anywhere. Numerous calls and emails requesting the password went unanswered. Having high speed internet was listed as one of the amenities. This was a must since, even though I was on vacation, as the President/CEO I needed to check in with the office. Was unable to use laptop. 2) Garbage was still at the entrance when we arrived at 5:00. Was finally picked up hours later. Not the best impression when you arrive. 3) Barbecue was dirty, unusable and an actual safety issue. The knobs were are striped and they turned freely 360 degrees. Could not tell if was on or off. Igniter did not work. This was listed as one of the amenities and we brought lots of food to BBQ we were unable to use. Numerous calls and emails requesting some solution went unanswered. 4) Fire pit was inadequate and left with charred wood and was useless to someone coming in. This was listed as one of the amenities and we were looking forward to camp fires and smore’s. We brough wood and supplies, but was a waste of time and effort and never used. 5) Deferred maintenance in the bathroom shower. Water damage was apparent and not addressed in the lower left had si

A Great Find

What a cool place! We had a wonderful time. Make sure to bring food, maybe a few of your favorite kitchen items and lots of water and lawn toys/games!
