I had stayed at this property two nights before I returned for this stay since it is a good halfway point between my home in Wisconsin and where my daughter goes to college in Alabama. My stay earlier in the week in a room on the second floor went smoothly. I slept well because the property was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. I left a very positive review about that stay. Last night’s stay did not go as well. We stayed in a room on the third floor. The toilet barely flushed. It took many minutes for the toilet bowl to clear (to be clear I’m talking about liquid here, not solids). I called the front desk this morning to request assistance. The housekeeping manager came to our room and tried to replace the toilet handle. She did not have a new part available. She tried swapping out a different used part but it did not work. We were left with a toilet without a handle which meant it was completely out of order. Today is Saturday so the maintenance guy was on call. I was promised the toilet would be repaired in an hour when he would bring and install a new part. Meanwhile, the housekeeping manager brought me a key card for a room down the hall so we at least had a toilet to use this morning. Unfortunately, the toilet in that room did not work any better! The toilet in our room was not repaired before we checked out. I know this is not the fault of the staff. They really tried to help us out this morning! But, it underscored how this property needs to be updated.
