This property was clean and updated. Good value and close to restaurants on California Ave. Only negative is that it is that the water temp is dangerously hot. I'm surprised if no one has scalded themselves. Was very tricky to get the shower to a comfortable, safe temp. Otherwise, a good stay in a clean nice room.

Room quality ok. Front desk after about 7pm is a guy on a monitor who wasn’t able to help me on 2 occasions. TV was not functional. Staff didn’t refresh the coffee in our room. Lots to nitpick, better places for the price elsewhere.

They’re doing their best… but it’s still a motel

You can tell this was a dive motel that people have purchased and tried to make nice. There is no closet and the hooks on the walls for hangers come out of the wall easily. We didn’t sleep most of the night because the cars are six feet from your door and the constant comings and goings of people was noticeable. This would have been a better experience on the second floor, further away from the car noise.

We appreciated the gentleman at the front desk and the person who arranged for us to have earlier check- in time. The housekeeping woman was very friendly & helpful with our requests. The big drawback I experienced the second night was the paper-thin walls and the people next-door talking nonstop all night long until the morning. Either they were doing a training online or something else, but it was constant nonstop talking. I was recovering from an outpatient procedure @ Stanford. I slept well on the very comfortable mattress as did my sister on her bed, but whenever I woke up the endless chatter continued. If not for that I would have given ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We were both tired and just wanted to sleep so we just stayed, but it was the biggest-regret-this-year. So I would not recommend this place for the following reasons: uncomfortable mattress with sink hole, squeaky bed frame, unsafe power strip with fridge, microwave and coffee maker, uncleanliness, cigarette-burned chair, non-functioning lamp, tiny bathroom, NASTY shower (slow to drain, mold, dirty soap dish tray, spider in the bedroom, and a very old smell. I have pictures of most everything, except the smell. So yeah “8.8” ?!?  VERY misleading,…more like .08, 1/2 star rating at best; would NOT recommend.

There aren’t enough outlets or chargers for your electronic devices. No ice machine and the fridge is a dorm sized one that sat on the floor. The bed was comfortable and the maid came in every other day and refreshed our sheets and towels. They didn’t refill the coffee either.
