Nice location, comfortable room

The hotel is set in lovely grounds with river walk nearby. Our room on ground floor was comfortable but decor a little tired. Shower over bath in en-suite, non slip mat provided on request. Restaurant onsite provides lunch and dinner menus. Full cooked breakfast provided was very nice. We stayed two nights, waited an hour for cooked breakfast on second day due to mix up with orders in kitchen. Staff were apologetic but did seem disorganised and lacking in management. This was a shame as otherwise a nice place to stay.

Had a wonderful 2 night stay. Room was spacious and comfortable. Hotel had a very relaxed atmosphere. Food and service were excellent. Plenty of parking.

This could be a lovely location but sadly the building is very tired looking in need of some love and a good coat of paint and some Maintenance. The food menu needs some looking at, as the meal my husband and I had was very it was underwhelming, Overcooked, tasteless. The wine list is also underwhelming they only had four wines that you could have by the glass and sadly one of them was out of stock so very limited the choice you could have.

The one thing we have found a problem with is this time and on previous visits is that there is no handrail in the shower area when showering. No anti slip mat in bath and no rail to hold on to when getting in and out of bath. Difficult both for myself and for my husband who is disabled.

The building has an interesting history, but requires a degree of external restoration. The gardens are peaceful and attractive, but again in need of some repair. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order and good, but there was no porridge on our second day! No porridge in Scotland? Some staff were friendly and helpful, others not so much.

Charming country hotel

Huntingtower is such a charming country hotel. All the staff are really friendly, especially Tracey at reception. Evening meals are fantastic with a great wine list.
