Interesting architecture

This Hampton Inn is located inside a former factory, which explains its quirks. Some displays of machinery from factory days are around. On a map, it looks like downtown Petaluma is an easy stroll, but it's not. You have to walk through some uninviting areas with no lighting at night. Not many dining options within walking distance and the hotel doesn't offer evening dining. It's a nice hotel, but you'll still want to drive into downtown.

Great

Really friendly reception staff. Clean, well decorated and appointed property. Small room but nice. Pretty good small gym. Only slight issue was soundproofing, kept hearing doors slamming through the night. About a 10 minute walk into Petaluma centre and safe surrounding area. Loved Petaluma, really nice area that we didn't know much about - loads of nice bars, restaurants, cafes etc. Overall would definitely stay again.

The Power of Hospitality

Staff were in general warm and welcoming, friendly; especially breakfast staff and bartender. Front Desk staff did not exude a warm, inviting and welcoming presence. They said the right “welcoming” words, but it felt perfunctory, robotic and corporate. They lacked authenticity. But they did perform their duty and met all our needs. I’m not sure you can teach Hospitality as it is a more subjective experience. I recommend personalities on the Front Desk who believe in the power of hospitality.

This hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was welcoming. The gym was satisfactory. The breakfast was limited. The nearby area had very few food options. I thought it was about $30 overpriced.

Gorgeous historic yet modern hotel! The location was convenient, the staff was friendly, the rooms were nicely decorated and clean, the breakfast was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay! The only thing I would change would be making the mattress slightly more plush and the pillows a little firmer. I didn't ask but maybe there were firmer pillows available. It really wasn't a big deal either way. We loved our stay at Hampton Inn Petaluma and hope to stay there again in the future!!

This Hampton Inn is usually pricy at $200 a night on most weekends, but a recent Sunday night set me back a more reasonable $150. I'm usually at the Best Western for $120 or less :) PROs: -Reasonable weekday pricing -Friendly staff -Spacious, clean, modern rooms and bathrooms -Free Parking -Quiet location -Short drive/Cheap Uber & Lyft into downtown -Decent breakfast included, with eggs and bacon CONs: -Expensive on weekends! -No pool or jacuzzi -Nothing worthwhile in walking distance. I'd likely stay here again for the right price.
