Welcome to Our Charming Basement Apartment!
Namaste, and thank you so much for choosing our cozy, quiet retreat! We're truly delighted to have you here and hope your stay feels like a little home away from home. This suite is designed for a maximum of 2 guests, is not suitable for children, and we are unable to accommodate pets. Please be aware that this is a completely smoke-free property — smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises, indoors or outdoors. For safety reasons, candles and open flames are also not allowed. Before you settle in, here are a few things to help you make the most of your time with us.
Meet Oscar!
You may be greeted by the sound of barking when you come and go — that's just Oscar, our friendly German Shepherd who lives upstairs! He likes to announce arrivals and departures, but don't let that startle you. Beyond that, he's a gentle, quiet soul and you'll hardly know he's there.
Back Yard
The back yard is a private space associated with a neighbouring unit and is unfortunately not available for guest use.
Arriving & Getting Settled
Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and check-out is 11:00 a.m. When you arrive, please park in the second spot from the left on the driveway. You'll find your key waiting for you in the dish inside your locked space.
Wifi & TV
To connect to the internet, look for the network called Shari's Bell Network and use the password Elephant22! For the TV, use the large black remote to power it on. The silver remote controls the Apple TV, and regular television is available through the Bell Fibre app.
The TV
There are two TVs in the suite — one in the living room and one in the bedroom. The Apple remote works for both, so you can easily enjoy your favourite shows from wherever you feel most comfortable.
The Kitchen
Help yourself to coffee and cream in the refrigerator — a French press, teapot, and whitener are on the counter whenever you'd like a cup. The convection oven doubles as a microwave and cooks roughly twice as fast as a regular oven, so keep that in mind when heating things up! Pots and pans for the induction burners are stored in the cupboard near the refrigerator. When cooking, please plug in the large fan to keep the air circulating. Please also note that curries and strong ethnic spices are not permitted for cooking, as the owner has an allergy. We appreciate your understanding!
The Bathroom
Fresh towels and facecloths are waiting for you in the bathroom. Please be careful in the shower, as the water runs very hot — take a moment to adjust the temperature before stepping in. The blow dryer is on top of the washer/dryer whenever you need it.
Laundry
You'll find a washer and dryer in your bathroom for your convenience. Laundry may be done once per week, after 7:00 p.m. only, and please bring your own laundry soap. If you're staying with us for 7 days or longer, we'll be happy to change your sheets after
the first week at no charge.
Window Coverings
If you prefer a darker space, there are two pieces of fabric available to cover the windows. These are easy to put up and take down whenever you'd like a little extra privacy or to block out the light for a better sleep.
Safety & Comfort
Your comfort and safety are our priority. A fire extinguisher is located under the kitchen sink, a fire blanket is mounted on the wall, and a first aid kit sits above the washer/dryer. If a fuse happens to blow, just reach out and we'll get it sorted right away. On cooler summer evenings, there's a portable heater available if the space gets a little chilly.
