Family weekend stay

Hotel is being renovated and you Dan tell they have put in some work. Still a bunch of updating still needed. Check in and out was quick and easy. Front desk lady was very friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast and snacks daily were wonderful. Wi-Fi was awful- as well as TV as it was connected to WiFi and buffered a ton. Rooms are small but for worked fine for the weekend! Beds were harder than anticipated, pillows were comfortable though. The price was very reasonable and overall we had a great weekend.

The fan in the bathroom was extremely loud. The water when turned on in the sink was also very loud. The TV was extremely hard to figure out how to use. Had to have someone come to show us how to use it…. And my husband can usually figure them out. He had to get other controllers. Those things made it a disappointing stay.

Not good.

Check in staff was great. The walkways all smelled of smoke. The cement stairs to the second floor were worn, slick and not even. The walkway to the room was narrow. All cement walkways need to be to be soaped and powerwashed. Staff at check out was friendly, but in a zany way. Breakfast was ... not great food or staff. Coffee was pad.

Surprising

Excellent. I chose this place as it was the best price around, figured it’s an average hotel. Surprised to see it’s a quiet nice place with a fire pit, gas grill to use, private beach access, lounge areas outside, and nice clean rooms. Nice change from your typical hotels.

The room had a decent price structure with a good breakfast daily. It also had Chili available during the day and early evening. Nice clean room that had a finicky cable tv. Would shut off on its own many times. The location is good for traveling the area but being close to 2 roads and the hilly features make road noise an issue. I took to running the fan all night to drown it out. Bottom line is I would stay there again at the prevailing prices.

Cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Sheets had stains, tub was clearly not scrubbed thoroughly, phone was FILTHY. Not that we needed to use the phone, but seeing that it clearly hadn't been wiped down in forever made me leary about the cleanliness of other things like light switches and remote. We were given no info at check in we realized later. Wifi? Breakfast? 2025 and no recycling blows my mind every time. Building was in just ok condition and steps going to other building are cracked/hazardous. Smells like smoke outside so I assume ashtrays havent been emptied? Garbage outside was overflowing first day. Overall impression of two different parties this weekend was that it was "sketchy." Overall quiet though and decent location.

The room we booked was a king, not two twins not even joined together, which were also very uncomfortable. Power outlet was missing the cover. Ice machine in bldg wasn’t worked. In the bathroom the installed the time upside down so it turned off while my husband was showering. Was surprised they didn’t even offer cable so we couldn’t watch tv to relax. Will never stay there again.

The signage on the building was wrong, there’s nothing telling you how to find the “office”. The air conditioner was broken, the AC was broken, and there was a bag of empty Corona bottles underneath the bed that, judging by the smell, had been there for quite some time. We would have gone anywhere else if everything else in town wasn’t sold out.
