My husband and I have stayed in countless motels over the years…some great, some not so much. This motel just seemed so uncared for, not very clean or secure. WiFi was non-existent. One small bar of soap and one roll of TP, I tried to get more but the front desk person was never there so we bought our own. We wanted to get a receipt and turn in the keys at checkout but the office door was locked and the overnight sign was still up; it was 9:30 am. Lots of potential if only some basic repairs were made. We saw the for sale sign and thought maybe they’ve just thrown in the towel. It could be a jewel in that amazing town!

Great Sleep

This was a very comfortable place. Very great place near things yet not right in the busiest area. Staff was very nice, family owned.

I really did enjoy staying there. There’s just a few things I was not fond of like how it was still kinda dirty, staff needs to have attention to detail. The lady that checked me in was dressed unprofessionally with her chest hanging out. There’s no breakfast lounge or washer n dryer. Besides the little things the place is very cozy, comfortable and the rooms are decorated nicely.

Very friendly staff, room was clean and location was walkable to downtown Charlevoix. Room could use updating as there was some peeling paint and the baseboard heaters were rusty, but it worked well for a quick one night stay.

We loved the feel of this retro style motel it seemed very well sound proofed as we heard zero noise from adjoining rooms. The only downside was the carpeting seemed to stick to your feet from improper cleaning/ to much cleaner left in the carpet

The owner and staff was very kind and helpful about the area. The room was 'dated' 1950's style, bringing back memories of my childhood when we would go on family vacations 'up north'. Very affordable and the location is in the middle of everything, coffee shop, Culver's, McDonald's, etc., across the road. Very close to the downtown area and Lake Michigan. We really enjoyed the chairs outside each room, making for an enjoyable evening.

The room was very nice for our one night stay. We had a slight problem with the toilet. It worked okay, but the trickle to refill the tank took a long, long time…needs an upgrade. Everything else was fine. We would stay there again
