I travel to Philly often for work. I love see to live there so I know the city well. The Alexander is my favorite place to stay. It’s charming, in a perfect area, and not a cookie cutter type chain hotel. Love it.

Great location, some issues

The good to great things: the staff is friendly and very helpful; the hotel is very dog-friendly, if that's your thing; the location is top-notch for the scenes around Center City, South Street, etc. The not-so-good: the Wifi was pretty awful (at checkout they said they are working on this, so hopefully it improves soon); the room we were in had 2 dressers, but no small fridge, which was annoying.

Lovely older hotel. Double beds a bit hard. Second room with king was very comfortable. Everything very clean. Continental breakfast nice. Only 2%milk for coffee. Half and half would have been a good addition.

I cannot emphasize how lowly the staff at this hotel are. One staff member stands out especially for her vulgarity, ignorance, and hate, and that is that abomination that is called Selena. She literally threatened to kick me out of my room for politely asking to speak to her manager. While I stood up to her, and she ran away like the coward that she is, I would not wish this experience on anyone. Do not stay here - ever.

Comfortable & homeliness

Really cute quaint hotel. Venue was clean & furniture was Victorian style. Beds were comfortable. Staff was cordial, professional & approachable. Breakfast was nice. We will be back if we are in this area.

The hotel, room and bathroom was very clean. The continental breakfast was basic and available till 10am which is great for poeple who sleep in. The happy hour offered 2 complimemtry drinks and a variety of snacks, cheese and crackers, nuts, fruit, etc. Hotel offered a discount for parking at a deck about 4 blocks away. Would definetly stay herer again!
