I was beyond shocked with the neighborhood setting. It was filthy, garbage everywhere. Despite the heavy police presence, we felt anything but safe. Upon entering the building, the cat urine odor was vile! Our room, though it appeared to be clean and cozy, came with additional guests - carpet beetles and cockroaches. We spoke with “house keeping” the following morning, at that time we were not in need of additional services. We never saw her again.. no clean towels nor toilet paper (had to get our own) for duration five days. All of the doors are locked and coded for “safety” purposes, yet the crew working on the abandoned building next door, ran their extension cord inside the front door leaving it open and unlocked for hours! The second entry door.. the keypad battery died, locking us OUT of the building for a short period, as we could not enter a code to get to our room. Had there not been thousands of other people in town for a concert event, we would have definitely attempted to find accommodations elsewhere. Save yourself the hassle and don’t be fooled by their great angle marketing! I would never stay here or any of their places again.

Good stay for the cost. The room itself was better than expected but the area is not good. I did feel safe because the building is secure however, the area is rundown. There was also construction going on and parking was very limited. Very clean but smelled like weed. Staff was very good about responding to my issues.

This property is very clean and modern. It is a bare bones stay though. The nearby bodegas can provide some food and supplies if needed, but a proper grocery store, bar, or restaurant is several blocks walk toward the university. The neighborhood around is a mix of rough looking row houses and newer looking duplexes, with student housing also nearby, but some places are definitely safer than others so walking around at night is not recommended. The subway and regional rail are both easy to access if you're willing to walk to the stations. The cheese steak and hoagie restaurant nearby is excellent. Overall it is quiet at night and the room was good for the budget and location.

The ONE time I didn’t read reviews before booking and I got burned! After you book thru Expedia you need to CashApp some guy a deposit for incidentals. CashApp WARNS you that people have complained it’s a scam. The area around the property was very “economically depressed.” Absolutely no way I would want to walk from car to unit after dark. In fact I was worried for my car! Of course property and Expedia refused to refund even tho I expressed concerns for my safety. I hope you are reading this and the other reviews before booking this property. I personally hold Expedia responsible for allowing this property to even be listed! That is why I am leaving Expedia.

If you’re a Minimalist

I enjoyed it! The check-in/out option is great. I would only recommend bringing towels & picking up groceries/snacks before you arrive. Stores close early.

Checking In Was A Headache

It was a rough experience trying to check in, let along just enter the building. I was scheduled to come in on Thursday the 3rd, but because my train was drastically delayed I didn't get in until Friday the 4th. So when I finally arrived I couldn't get beyond the first two doors to enter the building because the person running the place never sent me the codes. Finally I enter, only to have no room info to go to. I eventually get in touch with the owner and he shows me to my room. However it is not the room I booked (The picture with the view on this page is more accurate of what I thought I would be getting). What I received was something akin to a Scandinavian prison cell. Say nothing of the fact that I was in a rush to go to that nights Dodgers-Phillies game which was to start at 6:45 p.m while I had just gotten in there at 4:00 p.m and my head was still spinning from the days long Amtrak rides I was on, while also still being stressed and rushed to check into my room that I didn't even book. The next day I eventually got an upgraded room. I still wasn't the one pictured on this page, but it was better than what I was initially given. All in all it was a very hectic stay. Mostly it is the fault of climate change for delaying my train rides for as long as it did, but the check in process at this place didn't help the case either.
