As a 44 year old dude traveling solo on business, I don’t need a luxurious hotel experience. All I want is a clean/comfortable room, a clean bathroom, and the ability to take a nice shower. The location is great even if you can’t throw a rock in DT Phoenix after dark without hitting a homeless tweaker. The staff was friendly and checking in and out was easy. I was in town for a big convention and not surprised that all the hotels were charging an arm and a leg. I paid $300/night, hopefully that’s not normal. The room was small, nothing pretty but that’s ok. The bed was below average but again, not a big deal. The bathroom was what I’d expect from a $70/night motel. My real problem with the room was the shower. I don’t know about the other rooms but in room 717, you have no control over the water temperature. It goes from cold to scalding back to cold about every 60 seconds all by itself. I’ve stayed in hotels in Europe that were in 800 year old buildings that did not have this problem. A tiny little room that looks and smells old where you cannot even take a decent shower for $300/night is madness. I highly recommend staying somewhere else.
