Historic hotel is good for short vacations

It's an interesting, old hotel, but not good for long stays or business travel. The wifi was so weak I had to find somewhere else to conduct my work because it kept cutting out. There was also a lack of working outlets for charging my devices. In the bathroom, the high-amp outlet for the hair dryer was above the medicine cabinet, and I had to stand on the toilet to reach it (I'm 5'3"). Finally, there isn't temperature control in each room- mine was warm enough that I found it difficult to sleep and the only temperature moderator was a ceiling fan.

I want a full refund for my 2 hour stay. The concert I was going to attend was cax after I drove 3.5 hours to a hotel without a parking garage. No AC. No thermostats. Stale air. I spent 45 mts walking back and forth w personal items from a parking garage in an unsafe location. I didn’t spend the night. Confirmed w front desk clerk. Had to spend 39$ to park for in a garage for 2 hours. Not reimbursed or validated.

Good not great. Nice place if the timing is right

The staff was fantastic and it’s in a convenient area. It is clean and interesting being an Historic hotel. Rooms are small but not too small. At least in my room, there was no temp control at all. You get a ceiling fan and a vent blowing whatever temp air the hotel thinks you need. I was a little warm but not terrible. But because of this I would not stay here In summer or even if it was supposed to be hot. My stay was in January.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Definitely worth a look to see all the pictures and information on each floor. Clean and nice and staff was very friendly.

Manager Tony is very personable and friendly, and helpful when you need anything. I knew I couldn’t make it back to check out at checkout time on my last day and he volunteered to let me check out first thing in the morning and took my bags in the office to keep until I could return at 2pm to take off. When leaving he called the cab for me to make it easy on me. It is a 96 year old hotel so some of the fixtures are old, but everything works fine, and there are a lot of old historic photos on the walls throughout the hotel which is quite interesting, some of them telling old time stories, especially with famous people who have stayed there from many many years ago. The only complaint would be that there is no parking there, I rented a car when I stayed there a year ago and you have to drive to find an old parking garage that is metered. This year I decided to not rent a car since I come to go to an annual convention every December since it is so close to the convention center, only 1/3m to walk so this hotel works out great if you’re there to go to the convention center. An older quaint hotel with a lot of history, very clean and comfortable, will stay again next year.
