Howard Johnson by Wyndham Pigeon Forge is undoubtedly the most unpleasant hotel I have ever experienced. From the outside, it appears somewhat normal, but once directed to the rear of the hotel for my room, it felt akin to being in the slums of New York City. Upon my arrival, there was no front desk attendant present, and I was greeted by the odor of marijuana emanating from a vehicle parked in front of the building. After waiting several minutes without any front desk service, a young woman appeared to emerge from the marijuana-scented car, which had at least one male occupant laying back with his foot outside the car window. While this was not a major concern, upon entering my room, I was overwhelmed by the smell of marijuana wafting down the outdoor hallway, and inside my room, the stench was reminiscent of dog feces and general dog odor. I approached the front office, and the same woman accompanied me back to my room, informing me that there was only one cleaner available and that they could provide me with a different room the following day, as I was staying for two nights. She also suggested that I use air freshener to combat the unpleasant dog smell that had permeated the room. After a grueling six-hour drive through the highest mountains I have ever encountered, coupled with nightmarish bumper-to-bumper traffic, I realized it would likely take an hour just to exit onto the main road due to the gridlock. Nevertheless, I decided to stay. The refrigerator in my room was

Pictures of hotel are very deceiving!!! Room was dirty. Very unsafe. We put a chair under door to help keep door shut. We had to be moved to another room because the room they put us in smelled like urine. Appliances did not work and were dirty. We were there for 3 days and had only 2 towels for 4 people and when husband asked for more towels the attendant got an attitude. Pool looked nasty. People were yelling and raising engines on vehicles all night. Was supposed to be family oriented...NOPE!!!! The shower was disgusting. Very unsafe place. Avoid this hotel!!!!

Horrible, was charged $75 “temporary fee” for a room that cost $45. Then get to the room, there is no microwave in the room like advertised. The toilet was broken and leaked water. The smoke detector in my room needed to be replaced it beeped all day and night. There is absolutely no cell phone reception at the hotel. They did offer free WiFi and have an outdoor pool but that wasn’t worth the $120 for the run down hotel room. Thankfully it was a last minute decision to stay in TN one more night so we only were there overnight. I made staff aware of all issues and even took pictures of my room and the water leak before checking out. Seemed really sketchy. I will absolutely never return to this hotel or ever recommend them to anyone. Worst experience I’ve ever experienced. Still haven’t gotten the $75. I will be calling them to see why I was charged this morning for the $75 and also just seen they charged me another “small fee $38.64.

For the past several years I have stayed at this Americana. This year it was very disappointing. There was no coffee maker in the room and the coffee in the office was so strong he couldn't drink it. One of the beds was so hard you might as well be sleeping on the floor. To be honest it felt like a box spring. The metal plate on the door inside the room kept falling off so we could not use the deadbolt and there was no chain. There were so many people smoking marijuana in this hotel that my room actually smelled of pot. Went to the office and asked them if they had a nice machine and the gentleman said no not at this time so we did not have ice available to us. I will not stay here again.

In desperate need of updates. The 1 elevator doesn't have any "inspection documentation" the beds are super hard, I mean really hard. Could be a lot cleaner as there was still soap and toothpaste smears on sink faucet from past guests. And someone left a smear of blood on bathroom door from prior stays. Staff was nice and convenient walk to the island and other entertainment on the main strip. Vending machine was out of drinks on first floor, and stole my money when I requested it back. But the water pressure was great. It was ok for the price but the cleaning definitely needs to step up. And again if your looking for a good night sleep just don't, the bed is horrible! Unless you like it hard as the floor then it's a must stay!

So I can't technically say anything about the stay because we didn't. We checked in and the office area smells nasty. The whole place is kinda dim lit so you can't see very well. After getting the key card and going to the room my kids and I did a check of the room. The room smelled nasty. There was a stain on every pillowcase and on every sheet. My son said he would rather just sleep in the chair. I immediately started looking for another hotel to go to. Within 30 mins I was back in the office telling them we were leaving because of the filth. The receptionist advised that since we were there for about 30 minutes that she could only refund 1 nite out of 2 nights that we had reserved. So now I have to battle with the manager on refunding the other night because it took us 30 mins to check the room out and find another hotel to book. It looks like a motel that rents out by the hour. Do ure self a favor and go anywhere else or sleep in your car.

Our stay was good. This hotel is right in walking distance of The Island Margarettaville and 3 Bears General store not to mention 100's of other things to do on the Parkway. It's close to Dollywood, and only about an hour from Cades Cove one way and Roaring Fork Moter Trail the other way. This hotel also has a very nice pool. Kid and pet friendly.

It was ok. You have to go to the front desk and wait behind everyone checking in and out and ask for ice. Then they give you a small thin bag with ice. With no ice bins in the rooms you have to sit it in the sink. 😡 Other wise the place was good and some staff was nice. The pool is very nice. Large 8ft to 3 1/2ft with a lazy river and kiddie pool. Great for the price.

Check in was super easy. That is the only good thing I can say. Pictures of hotel are very deceiving. Room was dirty. Locks were broken on the door. The door had large gaps all around it that let in heat, noise and you could see through the gaps easily. Air conditioner was propped up on bricks in the room. Phone was just for looks. Light fixtures did not have covers. Hair balls were found on towels. Shampoo and soap in room was used already. Toilet paper holder was broken and had half a roll of toilet paper. There was a "new" roll of toilet paper on the counter but it had been wet previously and dried and there was wadded toilet paper in the center. Kleenex box was open and wet. There was a dirty mop head laying on the walkway that we had to step over to get back to our car. I have never been so disappointed in a Wyndham property.
