I chose this property because I’ve been here before 25 years ago and you got a free massage and arts and crafts. Now a couples massage was over $300 arts and crafts start a $20 to make for like a key chain. The main pool look dirty, I don’t eat pork or beef so food choices are limited. The buffet used to be all 3 lunches now it’s only breakfast which to me was the best meal of the day. Most of the restaurants the food is subpar. Day one they make promises and get you to do a timeshare presentation ( oh I mean a membership presentation) and promise you something and since it was my birthday we did it. (To get a free candlelight dinner on the beach with a violinist. Never saw a candle or violinist) The food choices were very minimal and not good plus child portions. I told the sales rep I would like to see the whole complex since it had tripled in size since I had been there. Now if your selling a membership wouldn’t you show the complex , they took us to 2 units . The concierge made promises that we never got once we did the presentation and didn’t buy. The beds are so old we had back aches the whole 6 days and even heard others complain about their backs , people way younger than us and I even had them change the mattress. The beach was unswimable do to the massive amount of seaweed on the beaches. A float in the gift shop was $80.00. We paid extra for a swim up pool that was a joke.. We had water outside our room enough water to wade in.. I definitely would not go back

Not so good of a stay sliding door to patio didn’t lock I called front desk 3 times maintenance came and tried to wedge door shut I asked how will I go onto the patio he said I don’t know. Reading light on one side of the bed didn’t work. Phone in restroom hanging off the wall mold was in the crack of jacuzzi tub I asked to be transferred to another room but got denied. Alex at the front desk was very rude and unprofessional

What I really loved about this property is the staff everyone is so nice and welcoming. Except for one employee who was on his phone when I was talking to him I just felt ignored because he would just say “a-ha”. Other than that everything was perfect. I can’t wait to go back to this property and spend more days here.

The ocean is blocked by a wall and rocks Full of dirty seaweed! Total deceptive advertisement! You cannot go on the beach into water! There are armed guards all over property which is very eerie
Nice view and chairs and cabanas but no access to ocean
This is as far as you get to beach unless you go on excursions to different beach

I read reviews - ALWAYS! The reviews for this property weren't great. That being said - the reviews are full of crap! This place was AMAZING! We got back last night and wish we were still there. Are there things that could be improved? Of Course! But did any of those things take away from what an awesome trip it was, NOT IN THE SLIGHTEST! Just book it already, you won't regret it!

Overall an amazing experience! There are a few suggestions 1- the website is not easy and needs a better interactive map 2-a small general store would have been helpful for simple snacks, toiletries, feminine products, etc

Went here for our honeymoon and had a great time. The staff were very helpful and made it really easy to enjoy ourselves. Only issue is the one bartender overserved to the point where a drink was 3/4 alcohol and 1/4 juice.

Absolutely a beautiful resort! The resort is huge. The property is very clean and well kept. I never saw one piece of trash. The resort and rooms are very clean. Food was good— the Marlin Tacos were my favorite! The spa was great! Everyone was nice and we had a wonderful time. The only issue we had was with the safe in our room which kept messing up because it was broken so we had to move rooms a couple days after arriving to resolve the issue. We will be back in the future!!

We stayed at the Dorado Royale for the first time and absolutely loved everything about it. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel very welcome. The food was absolutely fantastic - in every single restaurant (they have more than 10 speciality restaurants and bars and we tried as many as possible :) And the service was outstanding—everyone was so friendly and attentive. We really appreciated that there were lots of fun activities and entertainment options, but no pressure to join—everything was relaxed and easygoing. We joined a few games and events when we felt like it, and it was a great way to mix things up. We took part in two excursions, both really well organized and great. We also had the candle light dinner at the beach, which was fantastic. The resort offers three different parts - two for adults only (Dorado Casitas and Dorado Royale), and one for families (Generations). We stayed at the Dorado Royale. The whole resort is just beautiful—like a paradise. And everything was spotless and well-maintained. We usually don’t go back to the same place twice, but this time we’re seriously considering it!

Sergio is awesome. We had an issue and he had our room switched within minutes. The food is okay. My only true complaint is the carts around the property. Some of the drivers will pass you with empty carts. Overall a good stay otherwise!

The staff was very helpful. The hotel was not a party place, so if you are looking to relax, then this is the place. There's no beach to swim. If you are like me, a beach person, then this is not for you. The rocks, the see weed makes it impossible to go in the water. I liked the a la carte restaurants but you should always have buffet for lunch. Because the snack bars would close at 3:30 and it was either pizza or nothing. I also had a swim up pool in my room, the pool was not cleaned, and the main pool should be cleaned more often.

We got a room on the first floor of the building number 7. I imagine one of the worst buildings and one of the worst rooms, cause otherwise I cannot justify the positive reviews. The building was old, the room even older. It is in a desperate need of renovation. Long list of small issues that we tried to fix but eventually gave up. Old furniture that is falling apart and hasn’t been clean in a while. The room was very dark and one of the main light switches malfunctioned at first (“it just needs a little knock”, the bellboy said) and died for good on day three. The safe stopped locking on day 2, and after it got fixed on day 3 after several desperate calls to send someone to fix it, it stopped working completely on day 4. The room smelled of dust and dumpiness and old age. The toilet handle didn’t work, so the toilet didn’t flush. After someone came and fixed it, it stopped working again on the same day. By that time we reached a different level of enlightenment, hence just moved the lead and manually pressed the button inside the toilet tank to flush. It worked mostly fine. Our room was located right by the staircase, and hotel obviously knows nothing about sound-
