My honest opinion about the hotel: If you have a family with kids under 13 years, you should get a family room with access to the pool. They are beautiful, and the kids will have fun and privacy. The main buffet has very good breakfast options, and in the evening, if you didn't book a restaurant, they have a different theme every evening with very good options. Every time I called for service, they were there in less than 5 minutes, impressive because it is a very large hotel. I love running and walking in the morning, but if you don't want to walk, they have service trolley stations to get you anywhere. The Maya Spa was great, and the main pool bubble party on Saturday was incredibly fun. There is construction on the other side, but no problem at all, and the wildlife is alive and magical in this place. Unfortunately, you can't use the beach for now, but that is everywhere in Playa del Carmen. Even with all that, I love my stay at this magical place.

Every traveler has there likes and dislikes for us we were most captivated by this resorts scenery if you truly want a get away this is the place. The entire resort was surrounded by the most beautiful jungle like pathways; with friendly animals like deer and coati's roaming around. As for the amenities there are wonderful scheduled activities throughout the resort like bingo by the pool, night kid friendly shows, and other aquatic activities like canoeing and prepaid jetski rides. The food was tasteful and the buffet was grate for a quick grab or late night snack and early breakfast feast, highly recommend with the most kind and very attentive staff.

Awesome resort and all staff was exceptionally friendly. Very big so expect to get steps in. Some areas are showing some signs of wear but looks like they’re addressing it with renovations. Had a great time and would definitely return.

Fue la primera vez en México desde Puerto Rico y no nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos. En el área de la piscina sentimos racismo y burla entre empleados por ejemplo Javier en el aréa de la piscina nos negó ciertas bebidas como que ya no había disponibles y otra persona luego no las otorgó. No sentimos un ambiente amable ; no sabíamos tampoco que el hotel estaba en remodelación hasta llegar. Nos sentirnos excluidos por el trato y tratamos de no preguntar mucho para evitar que nos hicieran sentir que molestábamos. El hotel es bonito pero no todo el personal fue amable. Esperábamos mejor trato. Igual los precios son muy altos en dólares en artículos que no valen esa cantidad. Daremos una segunda oportunidad pero deben mejorar el servicio.

This was our fifth stay at this property and all I can say that we had a fantastic time. There were 12 in our group and everyone had nothing but great things to say. We had heard some concerns regarding the renovations at the Sunset, but we were not affected negatively in any way. As a matter of fact, there were less people in the pools, restaurants and beaches. Once the property is fully renovated, we will definitely return. The hospitality is amazing.

This was a really great place for my partner and I to stay at for our engagement-moon. The staff were very friendly and cleaned our rooms every single day as well as stocked our mini fridge like they said. There was construction going on but I didn’t really notice it unless we were walking by.

We loved how many pools and activities there were for everyone in the family. The staff was great. We loved seeing all the animals on the property living naturally in the resort. It was fun to see them everyday. Half of the restort was under construction. It did not hinder our experience at all. I looked at it as a plus less people.
