The room was clean, close to restaurants and the shopping area and the sea. The staff were all amazing and super helpful about the area. The only thing I didn’t care for was the fact that the toilet didn't flush properly. I would definitely stay there again!

Stayed for a week march 20 to 27th. Place was very clean, staff was very friendly. Walking distance to lots of shopping and restaurants. Would diffently stay again

Fallen on hard times

This hotel use to be great! It has fallen on hard times. Towels are dingy and stained. Walls are cracked and paint is peeling. Front desk doesnt honor your room type reservation, they give you what they have available. There are plenty of better options available in Playa del carmen

Increíble estancia en Sofía by Bunik Mi experiencia en Sofía by Bunik fue excelente, y gran parte de ello se lo debo a Juan Carlos en el front desk. Desde mi llegada, fue increíblemente atento, amable y profesional, asegurándose de que mi estancia fuera perfecta. El hotel es impecablemente limpio, con un ambiente acogedor y relajante. Todo el personal es respetuoso y servicial, pero el trato de Juan Carlos realmente hizo la diferencia. Las amenidades son de primera, las habitaciones cómodas y bien equipadas. La vibra del lugar es inigualable, perfecta para descansar y disfrutar. Sin duda, lo recomiendo totalmente, y en mi próxima visita, volveré con la certeza de recibir el mejor servicio. Gracias, Juan Carlos, por hacer mi estancia aún más especial!

Amazing Stay at Sofía by Bunik My experience at Sofía by Bunik was excellent. The hotel is spotlessly clean, with a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly and respectful, always ready to help. The amenities are top-notch, the rooms are comfortable and well-equipped. The vibe of the place is unmatched, perfect for unwinding and enjoying. Without a doubt, I highly recommend it, and I will definitely be back on my next visit. A perfect stay!

Property was very continently located to dining and shopping. The room had daily cleaning service and common areas were clean along with pool area. One problem we had was door to adjoining room was not secure where someone could access your room.

I pulled back the blanket and saw signs of bedbug bites and dirt and hair on the sheets. I did not feel comfortable sleeping between the sheets so I slept on top of the bed. Towels were worn and had holes in there. This could be a nice place. The pool looks great but I don’t think housekeeping is doing a sheet change

We really enjoyed our stay. it was a bonus to have a kitchenette in our room. I would suggest having some deep bowls to have cereal and pots in all rooms. We did ask for one and they gave it to us immediately. Would also recommend having a facial tissue box in the room. We loved the roof top deck, great lounge chairs and a beautiful pool. We brought up our breakfast every morning, with the light sun, it was so beautiful. You can see the island of Cozumel from the roof top. Great stay will definitely return.

We stayed for 7 nights and had a great time. Staff were all wonderful. House keeping was fabulous never had concerns of things missing. Only negative I could say is the kitchen is lacking cups/glasses and the beds weren’t overly great. The pull out bed for children would be best suited for young children not teens. The location was fabulous, super close to great restaurants, the grocery store and very close to Walmart, the pool was beautiful!

Beautiful property

We had great service from the staff. The man at the front desk was very helpful and would assist in getting us a taxi. The property was beautiful and the rooms looked just like they did in the photos online. The roof garden pool area was my favorite. You could see Cozumel from the rooftop. I enjoyed watching the cruise ships sail away from there. There are many restaurants within walking distance along with a drop-off laundry service. Things that I wish I had known before.. We were asked not to flush any toilet paper down the toilets. Having 4 in a room, the smells were not great. We bought extra trash bags to close up because the bathroom only had a tiny trash can. Daily room cleaning was a must! The beds are firm and the blankets are very thin. The AC worked great in our room and we had no issues there. The hot water was not reliable, it was there sometimes and other times no. Our room's safe was closed when we arrived and after asking 4 different times it still was not opened so we had to use our family safe. But if we had no other family in another room this would have been a big issue. Overall a good stay and our group had 5 rooms total and all said would stay again.

Juan Carlos checked me in efficiently and quickly, he also told us where to eat nearby and did not hesitate to get us a taxi wherever we wanted to go. He was so welcoming that I would recommend anyone to stay here! The room itself is huge with a balcony full kitchen stocked with pots and pans and a huge bathroom. Also, you are near the night life but it isn’t where the location is noisy or busy because it isn’t! But if you walk four to five blocks you are on 5th where it is the heart of shopping and night life! You won’t regret it and I’ll definitely be going back!

Clean condo, well equipped kitchen ; toaster, coffee maker, liquidizer, large fridge freezer, hob, utensils (drawer is hidden in the cupboard under the hob). Perfect for self catering but when you don’t want to cook a good variety of restaurants close by. Easy walk to the beach and buzzing 5th Avenue. Easy walk to the Ado bus station and a bit further to the collectivos. Excellent roof top pool. Everything was in good functioning order: lift, room air conditioning, room safe and bathroom. Nice balcony with 2 chairs and table. In summary an excellent place to base yourself to explore the area as long as you are happy to walk a bit and a great place to relax on rest days. Rooms were clean everyday.
