Well, where to even begin? First off, the ad was what I’d politely call creative writing. The so-called ‘bed’ was, at best, a king single—both pillows hung off the edge, and the idea of two people actually sharing it? Hilarious. As if that wasn’t enough, the upstairs toilet came complete with a black mould feature wall and a toilet roll already three-quarters used (such a welcoming touch). The main bathroom downstairs was even worse—mould everywhere, and the drain was still full of someone else’s hair. Clearly, cleanliness isn’t high on the priority list. The kitchen followed suit: dirty with the priors guests dinner on the cooktop.
When we raised this with the host, they reacted with the urgency of a sloth on a Sunday. No updates, zero solutions, with the exception of waiting around for their cleaner. We stayed the first night (unfortunately), but by the next day—still no update. When I finally told the host we were checking out and requesting a refund, they refused because apparently we intervened before they could send a cleaner (eventually, maybe, someday?). Their idea of generosity? A $60 refund on a $600 booking. The only reason we saw more back was thanks to Expedia stepping in.
Would I recommend this place? Absolutely not—unless, of course, you’re after a tiny bed, mouldy bathrooms, and the general vibe of staying in someone’s dirty leftover mess. In that case… five stars 😃
