Canto de Luz is the loving restoration of a Merchant’s townhouse in the heart of Porto’s old town in a quiet cobbled street running parallel to the square of Porto town hall. Behind the traditional tiled façade is a modern architectural gem, created around an atrium that floods the building with natural light. The property is filled with custom-made furniture, original art, premium appliances and fun gadgets.

Operated as one of Porto’s most successful Guest Houses, and consistently in the top 3 on various review platforms and Traveller’s Choice winner year on year, we are delighted to preview brand new for 2020, our Luxury Family Villa.

The Private Villa with Pool is set in the garden of the main Maison. An eco-Villa offers the best of both worlds, a private luxury 2 bedroom eco home, powered by renewable energy and offering a beautiful open plan kitchen, living-dining room which looks out from floor to ceiling windows on to its own private terrace and garden down to your private salt water electrolysis swimming pool.

Our rate includes Daily HouseKeeping service and Breakfast served at La Cuisine or to the Villa each day.

Our breakfasts have become the stuff of legend. They change daily according to the season and produce available in our local markets – always homemade with love.

The Villa has two ensuite bedrooms each with their own luxury bathrooms with heated towel rails and rain showers. A sofa bed in the living room allows 6 people to sleep comfortably in the Villa plus up to 2 infants.

• At the heart of the old town in the renowned Rua Almada a quiet cobbled road that runs parallel to one of the main squares in Porto
• Trindade Metro station is just around the corner
• Walk Everywhere – 5-7 mins walk to Avenida dos Aliados, Torre dos Clérigos, Rua das Flores, Ribeira and the riverfront, and the beautiful São Bento train station are all a stone’s throw from our door
• We are lucky to be surrounded by great shops, amazing restaurants to suit every taste, quirky antique and vintage shops
• Excellent supermarket, bike rental, cafes, bakery, fromagerie (cheese shop) and Vinoteca (Portuguese wine shops) are all 2 mins walk
