Worse than you can imagine

Major construction ongoing. No pool. No restaurant. No breakfast. Unlikely to change for at least 10-12 weeks based on the current condition of the hotel. Cost is exorbitant for the condition. Worse than a Motel 6. Location is great but it will be hard to come back from this. We were in a "renovated" room. Outlets on both sides of the bed didn't work. Toilet didn't flush correctly. Shower was configured incorrectly so difficult to change temperature. Light bulbs left in night stand drawer. Blue painters tape left on artwork with location of position in the room. Ice machine on our floor which was "finished" was inoperable. Both front desk employees were so casually dressed as to appear homeless. Recommendation to ownership, 1. fire everyone and start over. 2. Hire a team to go through every room on every floor and create a lunch list. There are electrical, plumbing and finish issues that need addressing.

My girlfriend and i were unaware of the extensive renovations going on at this hotel. Renovations included the pool hot tub and restaurant all being closed. This information needs to be posted more clearly at the beginning not five pages down in the description.

Awful! I have stayed here before and loved it. Unbeknownst to me they were remodeling. So no pool, no jacuzzi, no restaurant. The next morning the drilling and noise began. So loud. I had a business meeting on Zoom so it was very frustrating.

Under construction. Worst stay I’ve ever had at a hotel. Chemical/paint/drywall smell was so strong in newly renovated room it resulted in a sleepless night and an allergic reaction for my wife and me. Trued to call the front desk and was put on hold for 10 min until I hung up. Avoid at all costs!

We reserved the room with high expectations. NO WHERE on the site did it mention major renovations! No health club available. No pool available. “New” toilet leaked all over bathroom floor. No Ice Machine available. Even as a Hilton Member, major disappointment in experience. Front desk was 100% unresponsive. Not worth the $$.

Major unknown construction

Awful experience had to leave in less than 24 hours due to extensive construction going on without any communication before booking. Couldn't breathe, sleep or stay inside the hotel for any length of time. Had to cut our vacation short due to inability to breathe.

The property was being renovated, and most of the amenities weren't available, and the whole place felt like a construction site, but this wasn't clear on the Expedia site. We chose the hotel for a romantic night out, specifically with a hot tub- which was closed. I really wish this had just been clear before we paid full price, when other nicer hotels had similarly priced rooms- that weren't dirty, noisy hard hat zones.

Restaurant, lounge, pool, hot tub and fitness room were all closed for renovations. This wasn't disclosed by Expedia or Hilton when the room was booked. The carpet in the room was filthy and stained everywhere without ever being thoroughly cleaned. There's one area where someone clearly vomited. There was mold on the shelves and in the corner of the shower. This property was priced similarly to other hotels in downtown Portsmouth. The other hotels offer the same amenities and convenience. This location should be a complete embarrassment for the Hilton brand.

under construction. restaurant cold and only cold food. had to change rooms as tv didn't work. dusty due to construction. maintenance man knocked on door. no identification that he was an employee.

Didnt know it was under construction

We picked this place due to the bar and location. Upon entering the whole place was being remodeled, no bar, only one elevator that took forever to use due to construction equipment and other guests. Stairs were only an option going down an they led to the street and could not be reentered. Price seemed the same if not a lil more than the surrounding hotels which seemed a little unfair considering the construction, etc...
