Portugos is well known for the Alhambra. Hotels nearby are the Apartamentos Río Darro and Hotel Anacapri.

25 kilometres away from the centre of Portugos is the Juan Francisco. Alternatively, the El Balcón de Nieves is situated 25 kilometres away. Two other places to stay include the Hotel Santa Cruz and the Melia Sol Y Nieve.

The greater Andalucia area is certainly well worth exploring also. Visit the ruins and castles in Andalucia, and also admire the region's beaches, coastal plains, rivers and mountains. Or spend some time snowboarding while you're here.

Lanjaron is 14 kilometres to the west of Portugos and is home to the Alpujarras Gate and Castle Lanjaron. If you'd like to spend a night or two in Lanjaron, be sure to check out the Castillo Lanjarón and Alcadima. Or, you could stay in Almunecar, 45 kilometres to the southwest of Portugos, where you'll find the Hotel Almijara and Sol Los Fenicios. The Almunecar Beach, Pena Escrita and Cueva de Siete Palacios Archeological Museum are amongst the more popular points of interest to see in Almunecar.
