Overall, the hotel was excellent. The outdoor garden was absolutely stunning — beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly maintained. Truly breathtaking. What I liked less was that the rooms feel a bit old and outdated. Also, everything at the hotel is very, very expensive — even the bottle of water in the room is pricey. Nothing is complimentary or included. Thank you.

Terra Nostra Garden Hotel is like a slice of Eden! Set in Furnas, one of the most beautiful places we visited in São Miguel, it offers peace and natural beauty in abundance. The staff were excellent — friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. There are plenty of lovely lounges and quiet corners to relax in. Our room was large and spotless, with the biggest bed I’ve ever seen! It had a small balcony but no seating — if I stayed again (and I definitely would), I’d book a room with outdoor space. The only slight inconvenience was that housekeeping ran until 17:00, and as we returned from hiking around 16:00, our room wasn’t always done yet. We dined in the restaurant twice — the food was delicious, service fantastic, and there were even great vegetarian options, which can be hard to find in the Azores. The spa was lovely, though the steam room didn’t drain properly, leaving some standing water. The real highlight is the setting. Terra Nostra Garden is breathtaking — filled with lush trees, flowers, and ponds. The thermal pool is amazing: large and wonderfully warm. Best of all, guests have exclusive access in the morning and after 16:30, when it’s beautifully quiet. Furnas itself is small, charming, and easy to explore. I would 100% recommend staying here — it’s truly unforgettable.

All members of the staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful. They even helped me plan my multi day adventures across the entire island! Having private access to the hot springs was very important as there was no seating in the hot springs! This meant we were able to sit on the stairs without disrupting others.

This is one of the most beautiful hotel locations we have ever stayed in. Melded with beautiful gardens and geothermal soaking pools that were open only to guests after 5 pm was magical. Our room was huge, the breakfast was amazing and we had one meal in the main restaurant and one more causal dinner at the outside bar. Both were delicious and reasonably priced with staff that were so friendly and enjoyable. We rarely plan to visit a country twice, too many places to see, but we would come back to this hotel in Furnas at some point if we could.

From the moment we arrived, the calm and peaceful atmosphere was palpable, creating a truly relaxing experience throughout our stay. 🌿 The standout features of the hotel are its expansive botanical garden, home to a wide variety of trees and exotic plants, and the impressive thermal pool located at the rear of the property. The fact that the pool is open 24 hours exclusively for hotel guests is a rare and luxurious touch. 🍽️ The breakfast buffet, which was included in our stay, offered a generous selection of fresh and delicious options to suit all tastes. We also dined at the on-site restaurant and bar, and were consistently impressed by the quality of the food and the cozy ambiance. 💆‍♀️ Service was exceptional across the board—from the welcoming front desk staff to the attentive team at the spa and the friendly servers in the restaurant and bar. Everyone contributed to making our stay memorable. 🙏 A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff for their hospitality and professionalism. Incredibly relaxing and peaceful stay

Terra Nostra was one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. From the moment we felt at home and so well taken care of. We were celebrating our honeymoon and the hotel staff made us feel so special with complimentary champagne and chocolates. The restaurant and bar were delicious. The 24 hour private access to the gardens and thermal pool were our favorite part. We were so sad to leave and already can’t wait to come back.

This is simply a fantastic hotel - a real gem. We loved our stay - beautiful surroundings, including private hotel use of the gardens and thermal pool after 4.30pm and excellent food. However, what really made it were the staff - always fantastic service and very friendly. We look forward to returning. Thank you.
