I recently stayed at RedDoorz Premium @ Gabinete Road in Palawan, and while it wasn’t a luxury experience, it worked well for what I needed. Let’s be clear—this isn’t The Ritz. The room was dated and could definitely use some refinishing; the furniture and interior were a bit tired. The TV worked, but the screen was blurry and not the clearest. The pool, while advertised, turned out to be a public pool, so it didn’t have the relaxing, private vibe I was hoping for.
That said, there were a few things I really appreciated. The location is convenient—it’s close to a scooter rental shop with really nice PCX scooters, which made exploring the area much easier. One huge plus was being near Badjao Seafood Restaurant, which is absolutely worth experiencing for the food and the view. The staff at the property were friendly and helpful, and although the amenities were basic, they were functional—Wi-Fi, hot water, and air conditioning were all working during my stay.
Overall, if you go in with realistic expectations and just need a place to sleep while you explore Puerto Princesa, this place gets the job done. It’s not fancy, but it works for the price and location.
