As several other reviews stated, the area around the resort does seem a little concerning for travelers. Bakour is a smaller resort as you could probably walk from the front desk to the back of the resort to the beach bar in five minutes. The resort itself felt very safe. The housekeeping service came daily to tidy up. We were unable to call the front desk with requests as our phone was not even connected or able to be connected to the jack on the wall. The water also stopped working in our room on the last day. They were able to get the issue resolved reasonably quickly, but unfortunately it was already time for us to leave for the airport. My partner LOVED the chicken at every meal at the buffet. The website for the resort states there is entertainment, but we didn’t see it any night we were there. We messaged our concierge to inquire about if there any activities or entertainment and were never given a response. Our nightly routine became going to the beach bar at night. The bartender down there was awesome and remembered our drink order everytime he saw us. We also booked a couple of excursions through Manuel who sits in the front lobby. We highly recommend the La Hacienda tour. We also did a tour of Santa Domingo that was good for site seeing in the city and to provide a different view of the DR outside of the resort area. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this small low-key resort.

The hotel is beautiful! The pool at night looks gorgeous with the lighting, and having private access to the beach is a big plus. My room was spacious and comfortable, and the restaurants were really nice. The bathroom could use some updating to match the rest of the property, and it would be great if the hotel offered more activities for guests. Everything inside the hotel is lovely, but the area outside is quite disappointing. The road from the airport to the hotel is full of potholes, and the surroundings look neglected, which gives the impression of being unsafe. Once you’re inside the property, though, it feels like a completely different world — calm, clean, and beautiful.

The staff are very friendly. The food here wasn’t all that great. I like that it’s a beach connected to this resort but the nearby locals made it impossible to relax they keep coming up to you selling things… our room was very clean with daily upkeep.

We recently stayed and Bakour Punta Cana suites and had a fabulous experience. The service was excellent. Our personal butler, Jorge, checked in everyday making sure we had everything we needed. Ingris, Fransico, and Derek were our servers for several meals and all were excellent. Ingris especially made us feel welcome and special every evening. They have Italian, Asian, and Dominican dinner themes, that they rotate through each evening. The Italian was our favourite night with the burrata salad and beef risotto main being my favourites on the Italian nights. At the beach bar, Alcedize was awesome!! He makes the best espresso martinis. We had the deluxe suite with a beautiful terrace, jacuzzi, loungers and outdoor dining. The room was extremely clean when we arrived and cleaned thoroughly daily. Other staff that were wonderful were Coffee, Lebron, Henry, Joan, Jazmin, and Julio. 10/10 the staff made this whole trip a fabulous experience. One negative: Expedia! We booked all inclusive through Expedia but when we got to the resort the front desk said our booking was not all inclusive. We had to pay extra to get the all inclusive at the resort. We ran into another couple who booked separately through Expedia and had the exact same issue. Expedia did nothing to help us (or the other couple) with this so I will not be using Expedia to book hotels again. This was an issue with Expedia - not the resort.

Omgggg I had an awesome experience, the staff and food were great! The only issue I had with the food is that I don’t eat pork and it was a limited amount non pork food for breakfast. They made my husband birthday awesome

Clean rooms and great staff! But… the neighborhood getting in was awful, just know it is behind closed gate so safe ! The noise at night was extremely loud out till early in am! Pools are beautiful!
