Staff was excellent, clean rooms, nice views, nice beaches, excellent choice of cocktails. Just shame that there is no free shuttle to airport. Asking 40$ and airport is 15 min away.

Rooms need to be updated and there were a few minor maintenance issues. swim up bar wait staff was not friendly and ignored alot of people when they came up for a drink.. The grounds, beach, and pools were well maintained and beautiful. Food was good and alot of variety at the buffet.

This was my 2nd stay at this resort, 6th trip to Punta Cana. I was at Occidental Caribe first time back in 2019 and after that I visited Punta Cana from 2021 until 2025 five years in row. Overall, it is good place to stay but getting outdated... I stayed at 2nd tower at top 5th floor and I had a leak from rain, it wasn't good experience. That's only downsize, building is outdated and overdue for major renovation. Besides that it is awesome place to stay, the beach is in my opinion the best in Punta Cana, pure white sand, no see weed, three pools, palm trees at beach, a true paradise. But the best part is people that are working there, they're amazing! I can't name all of them but let's mention some of them: First is Jose Rafael, the Expedia rep at Occidental, he's very helpful person, helped me a lot while I was over there, he deserves 5 star for sure. Then my housekeeper Maria Rijo, she did amazing job! Then security office at beach Miguyel Trinidad, awesome guy! But true superstar is Christin Cuello, the bartender at bar at front desk. She makes the best cocktails in the world! Also, Sory Jean, the front desk associate, she helped me with the room, I requested ocean view and she gave to me without any question, very nice of her. I could name many other but it would take me forever but these people that I mentioned are true superstars! In the conclusion, I would go back again, Occidental Caribe is nice place to stay

The rooms were old, dark and outdated. Our toilet was broken (and yes we told them). We had to keep lifting the handle for the tank to fill back up and sometimes flush it multiple times for it to work. The staff was terrible and not attentive. It always reeked of mildew and sewage, even in the buffet hall (which served the same thing morning, noon, and night). The "casino" advertised 23 slot machines, and it was really more like 8. The smell was so awful in there, I couldn't stand it. Smelled like old, wet, dirty basement. The "nightclub" was trash! The dj was only playing music for the locals. When I asked him to play some hip hop, he played 2 songs and cut the 2nd one mid song. The bartenders were rude. My cousin had been standing waiting on a drink and the 1 kept ignoring her and waited on another group when they came up. The other bartender came over and got my cousin her drink and was tipped $5. The bartender got mad and said it wasn't enough and kept trying to demand $10 so she could split it with her friend that ignored my cousin in the first place. When I told her to give it back if she wasn't happy, her tone and attitude changed real quick. Thank God for our private butler Jose. He really took care of us and got things done. I would absolutely go back to Punta Cana, but I wouldn't recommend this dirt resort to not 1 soul. PLEASE do yourself a favor and NEVER book here!

How helpful all staff members were to me. I felt like a queen! Especially the customer service staff member Farode, my butler Carlos and the beautiful bar staff at the bar right there at the customer service center. All of the pools were awesome. They need to lend out Different kinds of floats or let visitors know before they get there that they have to bring their own. The activity director needs to reach out to all the people that stay, especially if they are single. They should have a singles meet and great set up somewhere too. I loved it there. Wish I could live there full- time!

Wonderful vacation. Beach is perfect pools are great. Bathrooms could use updating but room was perfect for 2 friends. Buffet needs help was not a fan very little flavor but you can survive. restaurants are amazing we went to 4. Staff is great but I only spoke English so that can be a challenge. Had an amazing relaxing massage at spa. Hotel booked the best horseback trip. Because I’m an Expedia platinum member we had the best concierge Juan Carlos. He was fantastic. He helped us every day and made our very affordable vacation feel 5 star. He spoiled us and took care of our every need. Would definitely go back.

This was our 2nd time visiting Occidental Caribe and we absolutely love the atmosphere and great vibes from the staff. Italian was the best food we ate while there but the other restaurants were also great. Everyone is willing to help out if needed. I would love to return again!

We had an amazing stay here and would highly recommend! We were celebrating our honeymoon and they went above and beyond starting with a room upgrade as soon as we arrived. Don’t believe all the negative reviews, it is all based on your preferences and everyone has different experiences. We are hoping to return next year with our kids! The staff were amazing and so friendly! We received a butler for booking through Expedia and she exceeded our expectations! Everything was phenomenal and we can’t wait to visit again!
