This property was ideal in its layout and proximity to the beach. However the beach was not what I was looking for in-terms of pristine condition due to excessive sea weed,no fault to the hotel. The distance from most of the rooms to the restaurants could be a bit far but doable for most. I enjoyed the quietness and peace I felt during my stay. They could improve on their entertainment when compared to other resorts I have stayed at, overall the food options were decent and there was a variety to choose from. There is a good balance when it comes to family activities. Overall a decent resort and would recommend.

I found this hotel to be perfect for my needs, with excellent food that did not feel like it was part of an all-inclusive package. The diverse culinary options available every night were also a highlight. Furthermore, the hotel's peaceful and quiet atmosphere, combined with its relatively small size, made for a convenient and enjoyable stay.

The property was beautiful and the staff 100% friendly. The only thing we did not like was the fact that, there were 7 restaurants and only two restaurants were opened during the day. The rest opened after 6pm and not all 7 some opened certain days. Two of the high end restaurants, you could only come in with reservation and only had a slot of 15 minutes early in the morning (7am - 7:15am) to request it. Other than that, everything was excellent.

Stayed 5 days in room 9115 in August Good: Breakfast at main buffet, coffee shop, and Sensai restaurant Bad: In general, customer service/responsiveness. We had no working phone, no drinking water refills, and no assistance even after mentioning it to a few employees throughout the first 3-4 days. Told to call 0 or 403 for assistance but no working phone. Service is hit or miss at restaurants, ac didnt work well in room (stayed at 75 despite lowering thermostat) or restaurants, constant road noise from trucks passing by window day and night, noise from workers loading and unloading furniture next to our room and a mixed bag of service staff (some friendly, some indifferent). Half of the buildings are off a service road to and from the beach. Because of seaweed and what looked like renovations /construction, there are people and trucks passing by at all hours. A few other noteworthy observations included tons of seaweed on the beach (not anyone's fault per se) and uncleanly practices by those preparing food (wiping sweat off faces with papar towel and immediately grabbing food to serve without washing hands, dropping utensils on floor used to prep food and picking them up to reuse to make food without washing, etc.) Overall, I would definitely not recommend staying if the above mentioned items would bother you. I've stayed at other resorts around the same price point without these negative issues and will seek to stay elsewhere next time I visit DR.

Check in was a extreme wait. Very well kept grounds. Clean comfortable room, but a bit to high of temperature and could not set it lower. Staff did not seem happy to work there. Restaurant staff was terrible in all places with exception of Raphael in Bluemoon. FOOD WAS THE BIGGEST DISSAPOINTMENT. Drinks were almost equally bad. Exception was piano bar. Was also told to call zero and someone would be up in a few minutes to get our bags at checkout. We asked three times and were assured. 45 minutes wait. We will never be back.
