This property was lovely, my family loved the lazy river! The pools were exceptional clean. Food was 7 out of 10 The buffet had an awful order which for me was difficult to eat in the dining area. The restaurants were descent and tasty food. The Ocean Burger was AWESOME my kids loved the burgers and fries daily at pool. Beach area was perfect! Only 2 things I would like to see change at this property THE LOUNGE CHAIRS were broken and cheaply made you break your back trying to get off them, they need to replace these loungers. The toilets in the bathroom were like camper toilets haha. Other than that we def would return!

We also had a butler his name was Jose’ anything we needed he was there all I had to do is message him I don’t know how gets everything done so fast best experience ever . Ocean El Faro is a solid 4- to 4 1/2 star hotel. Strengths are many and include: - New, lovely, clean, well maintained facilities including rooms, pools, lazy river, main lobby; - Friendly and hard working staff - waiters, bartenders, towel service, maid service, concierge; - Lovely sandy beach with little to no seaweed (surf can be rough for young and elderly with patches of reef); - Sakura asian restaurant, Ocean burgers, breakfast/lunch/dinner buffet (excellent bread and variety), and Mike's cafe (great coffee and variety) are food highlights; - Filled with young families to small groups of twenty somethings, elderly couples; - Great value. To be improved: - Restaurants - Sakura sets the standard, showing what the hotel is capable of. But the Italian, Mexican, and American restaurants were disappointing. - Room maintenance - spotty sometimes (e.g., no hand or face towels for a couple of days).

My group and I loved our stay here. We were able to try a new restaurant every night, rotate between tanning on the beach or by the pool, and relax from the comfort of the balcony in our room. The staff here was excellent and very involved, especially our concierge Jose! He was very attentive to helping us acquire any drinks, toiletries, and assist in making reservations each night! Overall we loved our stay at Ocean El Faro!

Ocean El Faro Resort Review (March 2025) Flights (Flair Airlines): Pre-purchase baggage online to save money; 2 large suitcases and 1 carry-on cost $250 each way. Seat selection was difficult, but families with children were seated together automatically. Food options were basic; avoid the mac and cheese. Transfers: Confirm transfer details if booking through Expedia; pre-arranged transportation is cheaper. Recommended service: CJ Transfer Punta Cana. Customer Service: The lobby offered a great atmosphere, but service across the resort was inconsistent. Concierge Jose was excellent, but check-out was frustrating due to unresolved charges. Beach and Pools: The beach is scenic but not ideal for swimmers due to rough waters and coral. The pool near the lobby was lively, though bar service was slow. Chairs were available early morning; tipping is encouraged. Rooms: Rooms were comfortable and well-equipped, though there were issues with bed configurations and occasional pests. No turndown service or towel animals were provided. Dining: The Japanese restaurant was excellent, but the steakhouse was underwhelming. The buffet was convenient, with breakfast being a highlight. Amenities: The lazy river and kids’ activities, including the waterpark and Daisy Club, were fun and well-managed. Night markets featured aggressive vendors, so bargaining was key. Overall, the resort was a 4/5

Not enough lounge chairs and people reserve. Lazy river tubes are never available. People hoard them all day. Food is so so. Too big of a resort.

We had an amazing stay at Ocean El faro, we upgraded to the adults only and got more access to the pools for only adults and the restaurant (Pez Dama, which the food was delicious). Jose was our concierge and he made our stay amazing! He reserved us restaurants, and whatever questions we’d have, he’d answer them. He is super welcoming and friendly! The resort has a great layout and so much area for swimming and beach. We enjoyed the walking and if walking isn’t for you there’s golf carts to pick you up. At night there’s a section with many restaurants that felt like a little village with everyone there. We loved how there are so many activities for everyone, we didn’t have kids but saw many and they have many things to do as well. I’d recommend this resort if you also have a large group of people you want to go with, it’s perfect for reunions, or just family/friend vacations!

My teenagers and I had a wonderful stay here. What made it very nice was our personal concierge, Jose. Anytime we needed anything, we just sent him a text and we received what we needed within minutes. He took care of all of our dining reservations, anything we needed for the room – extra bottled water or towels, and arranged for a convenient check out. If you stay here, be sure to request Jose! He was very professional, friendly and attentive.
