Overall, we had a good stay but there are areas that could’ve been improved. Our biggest complaint was the closing time for the pools (7pm). Due to jet lag, we often woke up later in the day which left us with less time to swim. The early closing time for the pools added pressure and made it hard to fully relax. Letting people swim until at least 10-11pm would’ve greatly improved our experience. Secondly, the quality of the food and drink was extremely average and could’ve been improved.

Here you go, corrected and smooth in past tense: The hotel and room were very beautiful and clean. However, as a Black couple, we experienced racism and discrimination, which was disappointing. The food was not very good and options were limited outside of dinner. Also, many people on the beach tried to scam or overcharge.

The site and the rooms are nice, the pools and the beach are beautiful and well maintained, but this is not your place if you like to be active. We have never been to a hotel listing tennis as a facility, but asking ( and getting) $30 an hour to play! Forget the bikes because those can be found at the sister resort, not at the Paradisus. The activities are very limited, and often limited in number too ( I showed up to a painting activity which was limiting the participants at 10!!). The food is very average, except Flora which was excellent. Oh! And you might consider being a member to have access to the Mediterranean restaurant otherwise it will cost you $30 per person. Also, if you want to be protected from the sun by umbrellas, you will not be able to lay on the chairs and watch the ocean unless you are a Melia member. A good third of the beach is reserved for them ( despite the fact that there was hardly anybody there), and the rest of the beach has a series of cabanas ( $$) facing the ocean. You will be behind those. Shows at night were very lame. Sorry to be so negative, but this is definitely not a 5 star resort in my book, and I will NOT go back

The service was consistently excellent, the property felt peaceful with lush greenery throughout, and upgrading to The Reserve was completely worth it. Our butler, Yaleidi, was outstanding. She checked in daily, handled dinner reservations seamlessly, and was easily a 10 out of 10 compared to other butler experiences I’ve had. The gym was well equipped, the pool and beach were never crowded, and the nightly entertainment added a nice touch. Overall, an exceptional experience and a resort I would absolutely return to.

The room was beautiful, with many gifts that I truly appreciated. Room service was excellent, and the hotel is stunning. The first day, food, entertainment, and drinks were outstanding. Unfortunately, the day before departure, the food seemed reheated, and the à la carte dinner was terrible. The service was rude and unfriendly al the time. I felt there was unequal treatment, as staff appeared more welcoming toward guests from other cultures

Clean area but has seaweed on the beaches which I wasn’t expecting. The different reward levels of Melia give you different access into the restaurants and pools and we found this to be so confusing because no one tells you, nor is it written anywhere, what perks you actually have.

This trip far exceeded my expectations! Wife and I had the best time here! Staff was super friendly, drinks were great! Food is give a hard 7. They had great places like flora, Mina and the hibachi. But the Mexican and the buffet was just not our thing. One big thing I noticed was not a lot of people tipping where we tipped and we felt we got a lil extra love as far as extra drinks in the minibar or faster service at any of the bars, restaurants. Overall we loved this resort and will return in the future!

The hotel is lovely and incredibly relaxing. We never had to play the beach towel game — there were always plenty of spots with umbrellas. The beach was cleaned every day and the water was amazing. Our concierge (Sorally) from Expedia was excellent: very efficient, easy to talk to, and she took care of all our dinner reservations. We really enjoyed the food, especially the fresh sushi every day. Overall, a wonderful stay. We would definitely return!

We have spent here 13 days and got to know this place on each front. The resort is gorgeous and well run! The staff is very friendly, professional and well polished. Special thanks to concierge Guillermo and Jendry Acosta. Great asset for the place and made our time more pleasant. Beach and all pools are kept impeccably clean and have no faults. Rooms are all modern, very neat so as the whole resort. However, the praising stops here! The FOOD is horrible and we had to go for dinners elsewhere three times. Have been going to Punta Cana for 22 years mostly twice a year, were in also much cheaper resorts and food was so much better. These cooks have either no talents, small budget or even both. What a nerve from upper management to serve such a horrendously low quality food, bad recipes with no presentation and frozen mushy vegetable sides from previous day. Mediterranean restaurant and Steak house meat- my dogs would not swallow! Mexican has no theme and serves just fast food, no meals. Buffet is the only place you can get by. The only one of the all restaurants I rate three out of ten was the lunch place by the ocean. They unfortunately have no idea here what the sea food is, except one kind of dry salmon and occasional dried out shrimp. Dining is the most important part of vacation and we hope you realize that! Please go to Lopesan next door and learn what to serve people and how. We were there in May and have totally different experience. They only survive on comventions.

The property was exceptional—beautifully maintained with spotless rooms. The staff were incredibly warm, helpful, and welcoming. The swim-up bar was a highlight and made the experience even more special. Overall, it’s an amazing place to spend your vacation. The evening performances were truly the stars of the stay.

I normally don’t leave negative reviews, but this resort was extremely disappointing. Don’t expect a warm or welcoming atmosphere. Dinner reservations were nearly impossible to get, and we ended up at the buffet most nights—which unfortunately had an unpleasant smell and very limited options. Lunch spots didn’t require reservations, but the moment you walked in, it often felt like guests were not welcome. Many of the staff members were rude, unprofessional, and communication was very difficult because very few spoke English. Although the resort advertises itself as family-friendly, the children’s food options were basically limited to chicken nuggets, French fries, and mac and cheese—no vegetables, berries, or healthier choices. The breakfast buffet offered food that was poorly prepared and often difficult to eat. I also noticed concerning hygiene practices; some cooks handled food without gloves and used their hands directly. Relaxing on the beach was nearly impossible due to constant interruptions every few minutes from people selling souvenirs, tours, and other things. It was overwhelming and made it hard to enjoy the experience. To make matters worse, several members of our group ended up with a stomach virus during the stay. Overall, I would not recommend this resort. Avoid if you’re looking for a relaxing, family-friendly vacation with good service and food quality.

I've been to many similar all inclusive resorts, and while this one is not perfect, it really deserves a 5* rating compared to other similar properties. The resort is older, but it is beautiful and spotless. The service is top notch, and consistent across the board. It's not a high energy resort, but has enough entertainment options to create a good vibe. The beach area is beautiful and well maintained. Food is pretty decent, but not great. Some negatives, the multi tier system is really annoying where some guest feel like 2nd class citizens while already paying high $$$. Lot's of weddings and corporate conventions that completely ruin the vibe, especially the corporate functions where you have a large group of folks who just want to go wild on corporate dime. Beach vendors are a disaster!! You have someone in your face literally every 45 seconds. Bring a large "No Solicitation" sign with you! Expedia Platinum "benefits" are a big joke, but that's expected.
