The facility overall was just okay even with the lack of air-conditioning in the common areas, the rooms were great although the ice machine did not work and the elevator was down for one day(I was on the 3rd floor). The pool closed way too early(7pm) and staff was very rude when taking equipment when they deemed an activity was over. It was a big problem getting reservations for specialty restaurants. Some restaurants actually served food that was partially cooked. The alcoholic drinks were watered down. I would not consider staying at this facility again in future visits to the Dominican Rapublic.

The bath towels were very dingy. They were not white and they were very hard limited bath towels, one towel per day per person. The pool inside the floor was cracking or cracked the adult pool the floor outside the pool was lifting cracked. I tripped a couple times. Will not go back there will not recommend.

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Health & Safety Issues at Serenade Punta Cana Beach & Spa Resort — Stay July 18–25, 2025 Dear Expedia Customer Service, I am writing to formally raise serious health and safety concerns encountered during my recent stay at Serenade Punta Cana Beach & Spa Resort in the Dominican Republic, from July 18 to July 25, 2025, booked through Expedia. During our stay, we observed multiple unacceptable conditions that compromised our health and safety: 1. Unsanitary Drink Handling: At the swim-up bar during a foam party, staff were rinsing drink cups with only water and immediately reusing them instead of properly sanitizing. When we raised this with staff, they apologized and explained they were understaffed and lacked enough clean cups to meet demand. 2. Severe Mold Issue in Mediterranean Restaurant: On the evening of Monday, July 21, while dining at the Mediterranean restaurant, we observed black mold growing around the air vents directly above our table. Worse, liquid was actively dripping from the moldy vent onto our table and plates. We had to request the servers to move our table away from this contamination source. 3. The resort only had A/C in the rooms but the rest of the resort didn't Following these experiences, several members of our party, including myself, developed symptoms consistent with viral illness and subsequently tested positive for COVID-19 shortly after returning home. Bad air conditioning in the restaurant areas. The smell caused by the seaweed doesn’t allow for full enjoyment of the experience of the whole resort, knowing it’s a natural cause of nature, it is still very important to keep in mind. The excellent hospitality from the staff saved the entire trip.

Outside of the property having adult water slides, my stay at Serenade was unforgettable and extremely underwhelming. When I first arrived, around 6 pm, my room was not ready. They claimed to upgrade my room but issues continued to dampen my experience since the check-in. My biggest issue was the smell of the RESORT. The smell of sea water and, what I can only believe to be was, sewage, poop, or something dead (maybe cats) all mixed in the thick, humid air! Yes - horrible! I couldnt enjoy my swim out pool because of the horrendous odor. (In hindsight, now i know why I saw no one enjoying their swim outs). Secondly, my safe requiring new batteries (minor inconvenience) and iron/steamer was not working. I called and requested in person 3 separate times about these issues, in which they only resolved the issue of the safe. After I explained the inconvenience as I made reservations for the restaurants on the resort, they reported they would drop the steamer off even if i was not there. And yet they NEVER showed up! Third, the restaurants were not accommodating to our party of 6 adults and 2 toddlers. We tried reserving online to no avail, and each restaurant had us wait extremely long to be seated. Needless to say the kids were hungry, TIRED and fell asleep at the table with maybe only taking a few bites of their food. My mother's tv and jacuzzi didnt work after their "upgrade" with rusty water coming from the jacuzzi. I will NEVER return here or recommend this place to anyone!

The Serenade property was very well maintained surrounding being clean. The food at the Buffet deserves a hard pass!! The Food was tasteless/ Bland, watered down juice and salad dressings. I could go on an on about the food. So on to the next thing. The specialty restaurants were the best bet for food options Although reservations are needed. Our room had no wash cloths or a trash can. Called the front desk to request missing items. Never received these items during are 5 day stay. No Air Conditioners were not working in none of the restaurants or Buffet area. However, the sports Bar Air Conditioner was working. Other than that You had to eat while sweating. At this point I would not return for another stay. Improvements definitely needed.

I was not very happy with my stay there. The dining options were very limited and of lower quality. The food overall was not good. Additionally, there was a terrible stench on the property that remained down the during of our stay. The entertainment was subpar. There just was not much to do. The televisions did not work in some of our rooms. Same with the locks on the sliding doors. It just wasn’t the greatest resort experience.

⭐️ 0-Star – Absolutely Awful Experience I don’t usually leave reviews, but this resort was beyond terrible. From the moment we arrived, the staff were rude, unhelpful, and seemed completely disinterested in assisting anyone. The room was filthy — stained sheets, dust everywhere, and a terrible odor that lingered the entire stay. The food service was just as bad. Meals were either cold, undercooked, or just plain inedible. Shockingly, someone in our group even got food poisoning. It’s unacceptable and dangerous. The entire resort had a foul smell that made it hard to relax or enjoy anything. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. It was a complete waste of money and time. Never again.
