This place was absolutely ridiculous! Dirty and outdated, staff tried but most of the issues were out of their hands! Like no clean towels!!!!? They ran out every single day! How is this possible at a 4star resort?!! We had toilet not flushing, days that water would stop running without a notice, missing window in a bathroom, revolting smell out of a filthy shower drain etc etc Even the food was awful, few of us got sick several times. This place was way overbooked for its capacity with not enough supplies and amenities. Not enough room to sit during meals, not enough pool chairs nor beach chairs at their tiny beach allowance at the neighboring beach hotel. One other issue that needs to be mentioned is the false advertisement of the roof top infinity pool on the Whala!Bavaro’s website, that is actually located at the next door hotel!!! We went and got kicked out, how embarrassing! They wanted $50 per person for a day pass!!! It was 5 of us. Unbelievable!!! Surrounding of the hotel and the whole neighborhood was equally unkept, muddy, old road with sink holes that flooded every day, no sidewalk and terrible smells and trash everywhere! My family flew in from Europe and it was a very special trip for us! So very sad 😢

Property is very poorly maintained, the room in photos on listing does not remotely match the room received. Food is thoroughly unseasoned. Staff was all very unpolite for lack of better words if not completely rude. They act as if the are pained to help with anything. Shower head was broken, and took 20 minutes to get water hot. Ceiling in bathroom was collapsong. Thugs loiter around the entry and threaten guests. Security is lazier than mall cops unless it is policing the actual guests coming in or out. Bartenders act like pimps for escorts that should not even be in the hotel. Avoid booking at all costs.

The moment I walked into this hotel, I immediately walked out. It was nothing like what had been advertised online. The photos and descriptions were misleading, and the reality was disappointing enough that I chose not to stay at all. I ended up booking another property instead, which was a much better experience. This facility should be removed from Expedia, as it is damaging Expedia’s reputation. The property was completely misleading compared to what was advertised. The moment I walked in, I walked right back out—I did not stay in the hotel at all. Because of the false information, I had to spend more money booking another property at the last minute. I am requesting a full refund, as I did not use the facility and was misled by the listing.

Hotel claimed to be Adult only on web site. Lots of kids. Next let down we were told a bus would transport us to hotel. No bus. Pay a small taxi 40 US 10$ tip to transport 5 adults in small car after no one answered phone at Expedia desk at airport was vacant nor did hotel answer the phone after 1 hour delay we gave up and paid cab. Next we arrive to resort only to be told our second reservation was lost. Even though I had written confirmation of advance check in. Finally accepted again after an hour of nonsense a single room with Queen size bed. Two people in bed. Three people on floor with blankets only.
Three people sleeping on floor first night. Two rooms reserved but staff offered only one room.
This not a restaurant. It is an open buffet serve yourself style eating area. Not a restaurant like posted claiming to have 3 of them 😩😣😩
