About this property

The Sand Dollar: Making Cents of Paradise

Summary:

Welcome to the Sand Dollar, where coastal comfort meets "did-they-really-think-of-everything?" vibes! This 2-bed, 2-bath Punta Gorda gem sleeps up to 8 beach-loving humans (two king beds PLUS a pull-out couch—because more the merrier!). Whether you're a family on a shell-hunting mission, couples seeking sunshine and romance, or business travelers who refuse to sacrifice vacation energy, you've hit the jackpot. Full kitchen? Check. AC that actually works? Double check. That "ahh, I'm home" feeling? Priceless! 🐚

The Space:

Welcome to 800 square feet of "how did they fit ALL of this in here?!" magic! This isn't just a floor plan—it's your basecamp for beach adventures, thoughtfully designed so you can toggle between "sandy toes and salty nose" mode and "ultimate cozy retreat" vibes.

The Sleep Situation: Two bedrooms, each crowned with a king-size bed (because you deserve to starfish in style after a day of actual starfish spotting), PLUS a living room pull-out couch that's secretly a guest room in disguise. It's like a clown car, but make it luxurious and sun-kissed!

Bathroom Bliss: Two full bathrooms equipped with both showers AND bathtubs—perfect for rinsing off that beach sand (it gets EVERYWHERE) or soaking away the delightful exhaustion that comes from a day of wave-jumping and shell-hunting. We've stocked all the good-smelling things—shampoo, conditioner, body soap, shower gel—so you can leave the toiletry Tetris at home and save that suitcase space for your beach towel collection!

The Kitchen That Could: This culinary command center is ready for everything from "we caught fish and we're cooking it!" ambitions to "grabbing takeout from that taco place down the road" reality. Refrigerator for your beach snacks? Obviously. Stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher? Check, check, check, and yes please. But wait, there's more! We're talking blender (for post-beach piña coladas... or green smoothies, no judgment), coffee maker with filters (because sunrise beach walks require fuel), kettle, toaster, cookware, baking sheets, and every dish and utensil your salty heart could desire.

Dining & Chilling HQ: A proper dining table awaits your vacation feasts, card games with that competitive uncle, or spreading out your daily shell haul for proper admiration. Then swoosh over to the living area, where a Smart TV with Fire TV is ready for those "too much sun today" recovery evenings. (And for the "but I HAVE to check email once" crowd—don't worry, your secret's safe—there's a wired Ethernet connection for when you need it.)

The Little Luxuries: Extra pillows and blankets (because post-beach naps hit different), cleaning supplies (sand happens, we get it), and basically everything except sunscreen and that sense of adventure you're definitely bringing. This space is equal parts "rinse and recharge" and "I never want to leave," which means it's doing exactly what a beach house should! 🐚✨

Guest Access:

The whole Sand Dollar is yours—every nook, every cranny, every "ooh, what's in here?" moment! Think of it as your temporary kingdom, minus the royal guards and plus way better beach access.

Your Castle Awaits: Wander freely through all 800 square feet of coastal comfort. No locked doors (except the ones keeping the outside world outside), no "staff only" zones, no awkward "am I allowed in here?" moments. If it's inside these walls, it's yours to enjoy!

Park It Like You Own It: Parking spot? Secured. Pull up, unload your beach gear mountain, and settle in without the dreaded "where do I even PUT this car?" panic.

Fort Knox Meets Beach Vibes: Your entrance comes with a trusty deadbolt lock (because safety first, beach second), and the path is lit up like a runway at night—no stumbling around in the dark after sunset taco runs or moonlit beach strolls. We want you safe, sound, and ready for tomorrow's adventures! 🐚🔑

The Neighborhood:

Welcome to Trabue Woods, where Punta Gorda's "we're-too-cool-to-be-touristy" vibe is alive and well! You're planted right in the heart of this charming Gulf Coast gem at 415 Carmalita—a friendly residential pocket that's equal parts "peaceful Florida living" and "adventure's just around the corner."

Your New 'Hood: This is the kind of neighborhood where folks actually wave hello, the pace is gloriously unhurried, and the biggest decision you'll make is "beach or botanical gardens today?" You're living like a local, which means no mega-resort crowds, just genuine Old Florida charm with palm-lined streets and that salty breeze that reminds you you're minutes from paradise.

The Playground Next Door: Literally down the street is the 56-acre Carmalita Park—home to everything from BMX tracks and softball diamonds to wide-open spaces perfect for picnics, sunset strolls, or letting the kids run wild while you contemplate your next taco run. (Priorities!)

Water, Water Everywhere: Charlotte Harbor is your neighbor—830 miles of coastline that's basically begging you to kayak, paddleboard, dolphin-spot, or just sit back on a sunset cruise with a cold drink in hand. The 2.5-mile Harborwalk is calling your name for morning jogs, bike rides, or leisurely evening strolls that end at waterfront restaurants where the grouper is always fresh and the views are chef's kiss.

Beach Bound (But Not Beach-Crowded): Here's Punta Gorda's secret sauce—you get all the Gulf Coast good stuff without the shoulder-to-shoulder beach madness. Englewood Beach is just 40 minutes away (white sand, turquoise water, the works), Boca Grande's pristine shores are a quick jaunt south, and barrier islands like Cayo Costa are perfect for those "I want to feel like a castaway" days.

Downtown Delights: Historic downtown Punta Gorda is mere minutes away, packed with 50+ independently-owned restaurants (from James Beard-nominated spots to "toes-in-the-sand" tiki bars), Fishermen's Village (shopping, dining, boat tours—it's the whole shebang), and enough charm to make you consider never leaving. TT's Tiki Bar? You'll become a regular. The Perfect Caper? You'll dream about it. Peace River Seafood? Your new crab cake obsession awaits.

The Nature Nerd's Dream: Surrounded by preserves, gardens, and wildlife sanctuaries—Peace River Botanical Gardens (30 acres of sculptures and trails), Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center (8+ miles of hiking), manatee encounters, dolphin sightings, and enough bird-watching to make your binoculars jealous. This is Florida before theme parks took over, and it's glorious.

The Vibe Check: Small-town warmth meets "I'm on permanent vacation" energy. You're 100 miles from Tampa, close to I-75 for easy adventures, but far enough from the tourist traps to actually relax. Think brick streets, restored historic homes, royal palms swaying overhead, and that Old Florida magic that somehow got preserved in amber while the rest of the state went full neon.

So settle in at the Sand Dollar, because you've landed in the kind of place where flip-flops are formal wear, happy hour starts when the sun hits the water just right, and "hurry" isn't in the local vocabulary. Welcome to the good life, Gulf Coast style! 🐚🌴🌊

Liked: Cleanliness
The host for this VRBO was outstanding. Excellent property. Very clean. It is a new build. I am not sure how new, I think my wife and I are one of the first or at least top 10 to rent. The decor is very well done. The amenities were perfect. It is very quiet neighborhood. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The parking is in the rear on a cement pad. I was unsure of the entry at first because you drive over a grassy area to access. Very close to many amenities. Great Ice cream less than 5 minute drive. Maybe a 10-15 minute walk. We drove. Working Cow Ice Cream. Highly recommend staying here. If we come back to Punta Gorda I would definitely rebook this.
