In Ranco, on the Lombard shore of Lake Maggiore, we rent a villa in an elegant, reserved and quiet environment with a superb view of the lake and the Alps.
The villa is surrounded by a huge terraced garden of 3000 square meters in which there is a large swimming pool. Furnished with care and sophistication, it is ideal for holidays and up to 10 people (MAX 8 ADULTS and 2 KIDS). Nearby you can take advantage of a golf course and a beautiful bike trails, nautical activities, hiking and trekking or historical cultural visits, the countless artistic and historical Lombardy and Piedmont close.
Ranco is located 45 km from Milan.
At the Ground floor, organized as a large loft with direct access to the garden, you will find the living room, a comfortable fireplace and TV area and a new modern kitchen. Close to it a sort of “studio” can be used as bedroom for two persons with its own bathroom. At the first floor there are three bed rooms with two wide bathrooms for 6 or 8 persons. At the lower level near to the children/play room, with ping pong and soccer table, there is another bedroom for two persons with exclusive bathroom.
Your peace and privacy will be assured. The swimming pool (10x5 mt) overlooks the lake and it’s immersed in nature and flower garden.

What an amazing place to spend a couple of summer weeks! A well-equipped villa with a wonderful open-plan living area, big garden, large pool and a view that takes your breath away. We could easily walk downhill to the village but be prepared for an uphill return. Communication with the owner was excellent and all questions were answered promptly and fully. Even at the busiest time of year, the area around Ranco is not overcrowded, with plenty to do and easy boat access to the busier areas of the lake for those who want it. We will be back!

Fantastic Villa with a world class view

We were a group of 10 consisting of 6 adults and 4 teenagers. Overall the villa is fantastic. The view over the lake is about as good as it gets. The grounds are spacious and the pool is pretty big and could accommodate all of us. We never felt on top of one another. Inside it’s spacious and over three floors with three spacious bedrooms on the first floor., a single on the ground floor and a double on the lower ground. The kitchen is very well equipped and we wanted for nothing. Communication with the owners was first class and they were really helpful. The town of Ranco is very small but there are three restaurants within walking distance, a great bar on the lake, a brilliant deli and a pharmacy. You can also get the ferry to other parts of the lake. The only minor niggle is the water pressure which can be a little weak if two people are having a shower at the same time… but it really was no big deal for us. All in all a great villa and would have no hesitation to recommend or stay again.

Stay in Ranco

The property itself was in great condition, very clean and was very comfortable. It had all the amenities you would need for a weeks stay. The views from the villa were beautiful, with seating for dining indoors and outdoors set up to get the best value of these. Thank you to Sebastiano, for making our stay so comfortable. They detailed visitor guide you compiled gave us great information of where to go and what to see in the area as well as the great tips on where to eat! We will be visiting again in the future.

we had a great stay. The view was phenomenal and the garden was spacious, beautifully maintained. The pool was clean and pleasant. There were several restaurants in the immediate vicinity. We were sad to leave .. :)

Marvellous Maggiore House

We had a wonderful time at this house. The location was perfect and the views from the property superb. In many ways the website photos do not do justice . These were strange times to be travelling but we found no problems with any of the local rules around Covid 19 and social distancing. People were very respectful. The gardens and pool were immaculate. Il Molo the bar by the lakeside was a lovely watering hole and reasonably priced. The house facilities were very clean and well provided.Perhaps one useful addition would be a measuring jug as we did some baking nevertheless our Ciambelones turned out very well ! There are plenty of local villages to visit and a trip to Switzerland is worthwhile. The table tennis and table football were much used ! It would have been good to be able to work the air conditioning properly as the weather was very hot. We were warned about the mosquitos which was entirely justified - dawn and dusk are to be avoided. The local pharmacy was very helpful in providing medication and anti bite creams ! Sebastiano was very helpful answering our questions and concerns leading up to this holiday and was very reassuring about preparing the house prior to our visit. We had a great time and a memorable experience. In these very constrained times of a pandemic we should acknowledge the efforts of all concerned. Graham

Amazing views

Great property for our family vacation of 7 adults. Sebastiano and family were extremely helpful buying food for us in advance as we had a late flight and the shops were closed the following day (Easter). Check in check out was all straightforward. We loved the location; beautiful grounds and views of the lake and mountains. Our only disappointment was not being able to use the pool as it was out of season, which we were not aware of when we booked. Inside the property is well appointed and equipped. The only helpful addition would be a coffee table in the lounge area. I would definitely recommend this property.

Fantastic house with a beautiful view, garden and pool in a very good location.

The house was very well equipped and we enjoyed our stay very much. The pool and garden were very good and we could enjoy them all by ourselves. The view from the house was beautiful. House was convieniently located close to the village, the lake and for example supermarket. It was very easy to make day trips to places like Stresa, Orta Lake and even Switzerland. Sebastiano, the owner would also give us good tips for discovering the surroundings. Also the housekeeper was very helpful, if we had something to ask for. We could highly recommend this house and would also like to come there again.

Excellent, quiet and beautiful

I'm somewhat reluctant about telling people about this place - it will make it more difficult for us to return! Anyway, the pictures of the house and extensive gardens do not do justice to the property, view or the idyllic location. The owner, Sebastiano, could not have been more helpful and we will be returning either to this house or others that he owns. There is someone who lives onsite but I did not see or hear him - although I presume he must have mowed the lawns and tended to the garden at some point. We visited a number of places around the Italian lakes during our stay - and if you are looking for peaceful surroundings and a relaxed time away from home then Ranco is the place to be.

Fantastic villa, beautiful location. Loved it!

My family and I stayed in this beautiful villa for two weeks, from 8th – 22nd July 2017. The villa has everything we could have hoped for, lots of space for our four teenagers to spread out in and really lovely open plan family seating areas (for lounging and dining) for us all to be together at meal times.  The gardens and pool are gorgeous and we spent most of our two weeks here with only the odd day out and about sightseeing. We ate in for breakfast, lunch and dinner almost every day, with a family of 7 to feed this was by far the easiest and cheapest option. The BBQ was pretty much always on! There are table tennis and table football tables down in the basement which we made good use of, with the basement also being the coolest area in the house. The facilities in this villa really are great, there is loads of space, the five bedrooms, with three en-suite bathrooms, were perfect for the size of family and meant there was no queueing for showers required. Seb (the owner) is very friendly and gave us lots of suggestions of places to visit and to eat.  Ranco itself is lovely, the small bar on the water (Bar Il Molo de Ranco) is a really nice place to visit any time of the day or night, with live music on at weekends and occasionally on week nights. The staff were very friendly and the drinks very reasonably priced. Just watch out for the mosquito’s on still evenings.  There is one small shop (delicatessen) a pharmacy and a couple of restaurants. These are all within walking distance of the villa. There are a few different local supermarkets – within a five minute drive of the villa. We swam in Lake Maggiore on a few occasions, our favourite spot being a little manmade sandy beach in Ispra (five minute drive from the villa). It was a quiet little haven with a small café and the beach allowed easy access into the lake.  We spent a day in Venice (a three hour drive) and a day in Rome (an hours’ drive) – both definitely worth a visit however take your walking shoes and lots of patience. They're very, very busy. We absolutely loved Lake Maggiore and what really made our holiday was the villa – absolutely perfect for our needs with amazing views of the lake and the mountains.

Fantastic villa on the non-touristy side of Lake Maggiore

The property in Ranco is a perfect place for a family holiday. The house is well equipped with a huge garden and wonderful swimming pool. My 6 year old son really got the hang of swimming during the week in it. The views over Lake Maggiore are great, and it benefits from being on the south side of the lake so the restaurants during our visit in June were not packed with tourists, just locals. Great restaurants in the area, particularly in Angera which is a 10 minute drive, though staying in with a glass of Piedmont red and some meat on the barbecue was exceptional. Sebastiano, the owner, was very helpful and a great host. One very minor request would be to have some fans/AC for the bedrooms as even in late May/June it was pretty hot/humid at night. Overall, highly recommended, particularly for families with kids as the pool is a real bonus.

Late Spring in the Italian Lakes

The views from the villa over Lake Maggiore were wonderful. The gardens were well kept and were complemented by the garden furniture which we used for breakfast every morning, most often to the call of a cuckoo. The villa was clean, well-appointed and all the rooms were spacious, with shutters to reduce the heat during the day. It was situated well away from any noise of traffic but only a ten minute walk from Ranco and a short drive from a well-stocked supermarket. The swimming pool was secluded and free of leaves or other garden debris. It was furnished with a parasol and sun loungers on a clean tiled surround. All in all, the villa was ideal for a relaxing family holiday and proved to be a good base from which to visit places of interest on and around the lake.

Der Pool war nicht nutzbar - vom Vermieter außer Betrieb genommen. Matratzen eher gewöhnungsbedürftig und Betten sehr nieder. Doppelstockbett nicht nutzbar - knarzte bei jeder Bewegung. Für die Jahreszeit (Herbst) fehlender Wäschetrockner. Für 10 Gäste kennen wir aus anderen Ferienhäusern den 2. Kühlschrank. Tolles Gelände, geräumiges Haus. Für 8 Personen angemessen. Für mehr (außer vielleicht mit Kleinkindern) problematisch - wir waren 9 Personen. Miserable Zufahrtsstraße. Weiteres ok.

Traumvilla

Was soll ich sagen. Die Bilder des Anwesens sind schon beeindruckend. In Natura bestätigt sich Alles. Die Wohnung so großzügig. Das Grundstück mit ganz vielen Bäumen und Sträuchern. Der Pool so gepflegt und sauber. Wir waren zu acht (61 bis 2 Jahre). Und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Highlight für mich ist die riesige Schiebetür im Wohnzimmer, die geöffnet, die Natur in den Raum holt. Der Kontakt mit Sebastiano war sehr angenehm und unkompliziert. Ganz klar 10 von 10 Punkten.

Top family holiday resort!

Everything is as good as in the deskription and the reviews! Everything is clean and new. Fantastic view from both the house and the very big garden. We were 4 children aged 2, 3, 4 and 5 and 6 adults and we all had a perfect vacation. The is space for all - including privacy. The pool is perfect! Very convenient with bars, restaurants and a supermarket in the area.

Mega Aussicht riesiges Haus

Ein toller sauberer Pool und sehr nettem Vermieter..mit grandiosem Weitblick über den See Die Zufahrt ist etwas abenteuerlich und mit dem Van schon sehr tückisch das fehlt vielleicht in der Beschreibung. Der Garten ist riesig und weitläufig und eingezäunt und bietet genug Platz zum spielen. Das Haus ist riesig mit genügend Platz und Bädern die Küche ebenfalls sehr groß. Es fehlt eine traditionelle deutsche Kaffeemaschine und ein elektrischer Wasserkocher aber das ging auf dem Gasherd auch sehr gut👍 Im alten Holztisch waren ein paar Mitbewohner aber alles nicht dramatisch. Die Fenster haben alle Fliegengitter die Mücken waren dieses Jahr leider unerbittlich. Wir hatten einen schönen Urlaub

Amazing view

The house is spacious and well equipped. The view from the house is stunning overlooking Lake Magiore. The tips of the owner are well worth exploring The week passed to soon! We would love to be back sometime
