I found the staff at the Roma Hotel to be very nice, and the coffee served here is excellent. The location is also fairly good, which is definitely a positive. I also appreciate that it appears to be a family-run place, which I generally prefer to support over large chain hotels.
Unfortunately, everything else is downhill from there. The pictures online must have been taken many years ago, as the reality is very different. The lift is covered in graffiti, my bed was uncomfortable, and the furniture in the bedroom was falling apart. The bathroom had a hole in the wall and gave off a strong mildew smell, making the stay unpleasant.
It’s clear this hotel hasn’t had any meaningful investment in recent years. While I wanted to like it because of the people and the family-owned feel, the overall condition made it very disappointing.
