The staff was extremely polite and very helpful, even with matters well beyond hotel business. The property was clean and very well managed. The room was spacious and overlooked the city street with a great view! The next time I return to Iceland, I will DEFINITELY be staying at the Alda Hotel again!

Very good, very pleased with our 3 night stay. Location brilliant for restaurants cafes, bars and shops. Very close to the bus pick up and drop off (9). Staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was well large enough for the 3 of us. Wide choice of food for breakfast. Being critical, the shower was difficult to get the setting just right. It was slow to respond so one got it too hot or too cold. Although the breakfast was excellent it was identical each morning. Just a few changes each day would have been good ie swap the strawberry skye to another flavour or different cheeses. Well pleased thank you

I really enjoyed our stay here. It’s centrally located to all the bars & restaurants and just a few blocks away from most of the bus stops where the tours make their pick ups.

The Alda Hotel is situated in the heart of old Reykjavic and many sites are within easy walking distance. It is also close to a pick up point used by tour companies. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My only negative (and its a minor point) was that I found the lighting in the room too dark. would happily stay there again

Got to be honest, I booked this hotel after seeing the photo of their cakes... they did not disappoint! But it proved an inspired choice... a real gem of a hotel. Perfectly located for shopping and bus stop 9 for tours. Lovely hotel... great breakfast and really good restaurant with excellent food. Room a little small but not an issue as we spent so little time in it. Clean with good facilities. Excellent value for money.

The room was spotless, the staff were great, and the overall aesthetic was very cozy. I'm not giving this hotel 5 stars for two reasons: first, the cold water in the bathroom of our room smelled like rotten eggs which I found out from a local Icelander is due to hot water leaking into the cold water or due to a regulator issue. It was so potent, we called the staff twice to fix it. They did try right away, but to no avail. And because of this, the entire hotel room stunk daily like thousand year old eggs and even made our jackets stink. We kept our suitcases closed so we got lucky with that. We were in room 403 in case anyone wants to call ahead and double check that the issue has been rectified. The second issue, though not too big of an issue but a minor one since we did book this hotel for this feature was the hot tub--it was dirty, had disgusting water inside it, and overall, did not look like the photos. Other than these two things, the hotel was great! And if the above issues are solved, I'd highly recommend booking here!

Cant get any review as our flight cancellations because of storms in Akureyri .we cant flight to the hotel. Cause of weather. We emails them for refunds or we.come back to complete our holiday after . The hotel refused to make a refunds . We said come back to complete the tour in Reykjavik. They also not willing to give us back credit to stay after the weather get back normal. No helpful the hotel Love money only
