Long story short our flight was canceled due to the government shutdown and lack of air traffic control so we were going to miss the first 2 days of our trip. All of our excursions through get your guide were fully refundable and so was the flight. We decided to cancel and to try going another time without having to miss any days. The day before our stay was supposed to start we reached out to Alda to see if they could refund us as well but were shutdown immediately since we didn’t make the request outside of the 24hr window. The entire situation was unfortunately out of our control so more understanding and corporation would’ve been appreciated. Even some sort of hotel credit would’ve been appreciated as we still plan to visit Iceland. Instead we were out completely on $2000+. Whenever we reschedule for next year we will be choosing a different stay.

Location was great, however the beds were very uncomfortable and the room was too hot. The street noise made sleeping difficult. Also, we got a call to ask us to leave from the reception at 11:03 am when checkout was at 11 am. Poor hospitality.

Highly recommend Alda hotel. Not only for their excellent location but the staff is amazing and very kind. Violeta was very informative prior to our trip about some accommodations for transportation until checkout. She was the sweetest and funniest person. The hotel has many amenities that makes this place an ideal destination hotel for me to return to every time I come back to visit. Thank you for a wonderful and relaxing stay *and plenty of water to stay hydrated*

This was the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The room was beatiful. I love that they gave you a phone. Violeta was very nice and very helpful. This is one Iceland's hidden gems. I could not asked for better service, room, or location. I will definitely be back!!!
