Clean and comfortable, but a bit noisy

The guesthouse is clean and comfortable, the bathroom is lovely, and the location is walking distance from Halgrimskirkja and the BSI bus station. The owner was friendly and the check in process was really easy. Downsides are that the room was really hot and the heater could not be turned off (we tried, and the lady who was cleaning the room also tried) so we had to sleep without a duvet and with the window open to be comfortable. We were in a ground floor room and the walls are pretty thin so we could hear footsteps and voices in the next room and the room above really clearly. Would not recommend to light sleepers but if you aren't bothered by noise this is a really nice place.

comfortable room close to town

Lovely and quaint hotel, very comfortable and roomy triple garden room with renovated bathroom and 2 TV', breakfast was communal at a grand old table. Only thing to note is you need to find parking on the street which can be difficult due to closeness to town.

Warm, comfortable, close to centre of Reyjkavik

Pros: Spacious room, lovely artwork, friendly housecat!
Cons: More clarity around whether breakfast is included (possibly an issue with the wotif listing rather than the guesthouse)
Location: Short walk to central Reykjavik, very picturesque. Would recommend the free walking tour that leaves the small clock tower at 1200 & 1400 (summer)
We arrived very late from the airport (around 2am) but found the host had left a note on the front door indicating where our room was etc. The room -actually an apartment - was warm and comfortable and had everything we needed. We only stayed one night but it would have been perfect for a longer stay as there were kitchen facilities in the room. My only bugbear was that the wotif reservation seemed to indicate that breakfast was included in the rate but the note from the host outlined an additional rate for breakfast and we couldn't find her at breakfast time to seek clarification so had breakfast in town instead.

Charming old style house in central Reykjavik.

Pros: Excellent location, close to shopping areas, the lake, Hallgrimmskirke and the old area of Reykjavik. Lovely buffet breakfasts. Friendly staff.
Cons: We had a room for 4 people. The 2 single beds were great. The fold-out sofa double bed was alright, but slightly uncomfortable.
Location: So central! Hallgrimmskirke (cathedral), shopping area, the lake, old traditional houses, reataurants and the harbour are all in easy walking distance
A unique old guesthouse that used to be a consulate! It was a delightful place to stay. Staff are friendly, and the lovely cat is very friendly! There is easy street parking.
