Although the house,Casa de la Flora with private garden by Rhodes4vacation, is located in the centre of the old town,you will find it an amazingly quiet place, a wonderful oasis in midst the busier outside world.As you close the large wooden door behind you, you enter a different world, a world that has maintained the character of the period of the knights.
The House is newly renovated with old parts of the 15 century, modern facilities with washing machine and dishwasher, flat TV & satellite ,Netflix Internet.On the ground floor you enter the house.The open lounge room- kitchen is fully equipped with all modern conveniences and air condition throughout .
UNESCO World Heritage, no driveway by car permitted-public car park is 200 meters away.
135 square meters in the centre of the old town with garden, museum, restaurants, beach and nightlife a few minutes away.The house offers during the winter months central heating and an open fire place (extra charge) as free Internet .
The house offers 2 bedrooms on the first floor, one is allowed to sleep an addtional 1 person on a wooden balcony and at the ground with a bed of 1,60 x 2.00 .A double bed with an open walk-in closet in the second bedroom and in the middle there is a bathroom with bidet and shower. on the ground floor is the living room with a large sofa, a work area ,a desk, through a low passage (under monument protection) into the kitchen which is fully equipped. There's one extra door to the garden area and a second bathroom with shower and toilet.
As you walk out into the garden which is surrounded by a wall to give you privacy, you have a small terrace with plenty of sitting space.A few steps lead to the open part of the garden with a towering lemon tree,a dining and barbecue area.
Although the house is located in the centre of the old town, very close to the Synagoge and the medieval city moat as well close to the entrance of Melina Merkuri - Tavros and the commercial harbour,you will find it an amazingly quiet place, a wonderful oasis in midst the busier outside world.The house offers central heating during the winter month - very rare to find on Rhodes Island.
The old town of Rhodes is the oldest inhabited medieval town in Europe and as World Heritage Monument it is protected by UNESCO.
Throughout history its various occupants have left their traces in this beautiful town and as you get lost in the maze of its many cobble-paved streets, you will be left with a deep impression created by the mixture of oriental and western architecture.
Every historical period from the Ancient Greek, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine times to the Venetians/ Knights of St.John and later to the Ottomans; all these have left their mark in this old town.
This mixture of cultures makes the Old Town of Rhodes a living monument, creating many opportunities for the visitor to wander around and explore the different faces of this lovely place.
