Great location, near both Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. The rooms were clean, but the bathroom and air conditioning were quite outdated. Still, it was a nice place to stay for a couple of nights.

Was ok, location was what we went for. Issues were the lifts could take forever, sometimes we just took the stairs. The air con was a box through the wall type which was noisy. Noise from the street if you’re on the front. Breakfast was the same every day, tinned sausages, scrambled eggs, bread. and fruit.

Do not stay here! It’s awful and expensive.

There were lots of ants all over the desk and around the room. A pipe burst in hallway flooding the elevator shafts and they had to shut down the elevators for part of the day. This isn’t the worst hotel I’ve stayed in but the only hotels I’ve stayed in that were worse were half the price. The price for this hotel was outrageous for how bad this property is.

Worth it

The check-in process over the New Year’s holiday was a little challenging. To be fair though the hotel recognized that we travelled overnight and they opened up a room to allow us to shower and change clothes. That was great. It took some time to get us into our room but once they fixed the issue the stay was great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel breakfast was very good and a great way to begin the day. The location is really good and it’s easy to find. The only change we would make is to make the bed in the room a little more comfortable. Overall we had a great experience at Copa Sul Hotel.

Roughly one hundred dollars in Brazilian currency was stolen from my room while I was out to dinner. There was no sign of a break-in so I assume the thief must be someone who has access to the hotel's rooms. Obviously I would never stay there again. (I did not report the theft to the hotel, because I didn't realize the money was gone till I was at the bus station, and anyway, what could they have done?)

As expected with few extras. Pros: - The hotel is in a great location between Copacabana and Ipanema. - Friendly housekeeping team, room was well maintained. - Decent breakfast but same everyday. Cons: - WiFi is VERY unreliable. I was on the 12th floor. It wouldn’t connect on all of my devices and was not strong enough for many things. Definitely not to strong enough to work. - Very strict policy on bringing guests. Even just friends who weren’t staying nearby just to get changed after the beach etc before heading out. Not sure if this was just for carnaval period but never had this in any hotel before. - Would be nice to have a kettle in the room and just some tea/coffee options. Small thing that would make a big difference. - Breakfast ends at 10, would’ve been nice to have an extra hour on most days I was there

Fiquei hospedado com minha família e reservamos dois quartos. Um deles tinha um cheiro muito forte de mofo. Pedimos a troca, mas o novo quarto também estava com o mesmo problema. Como minha mãe tem rinite alérgica, ela não conseguiu permanecer nos quartos triplos oferecidos pelo hotel. A equipe não demonstrou interesse real em resolver a situação e ainda ficou nos pressionando para decidir o que faríamos. Tivemos que reorganizar os quartos por conta própria. Acabei dormindo com minha esposa em um quarto com três camas de solteiro, enquanto no outro quarto três pessoas precisaram dividir apenas duas camas. Além disso, o atendimento foi ruim. A funcionária da recepção, de cabelo curto, foi arrogante e mal educada. A funcionária Diná, do café da manhã, também foi grosseira e pouco prestativa. Experiência bastante decepcionante, principalmente pela falta de cuidado e preparo da equipe diante de um problema de saúde.

O Hotel deveria ter uma nota mais alta. A equipe de funcionários e o café da manhã se destacam. A equipe extremamente educada e prestativa. No café, tinha muita variedade e principalmente qualidade. Destaque para itens sem glúten ou sem açúcar para quem tinha restrições. Já fui para hotéis mais bem conceituados e que não tinham essas opções no café. Foi feriado de Páscoa e eles decoraram tudo e ainda colocaram bolos decorados deliciosos para dar um toque diferente no café do domingo de Páscoa. O quarto era espaçoso (com exceção do Box que seria o único ponto negativo) e bem confortável. Fui com minha bebê de 5 meses e eles forneceram um berço ótimo e ainda colocaram almofadas de bichinhos. Achei tudo maravilhoso. Voltarei com certeza.
