Excellent location for Mayo Clinic patients. Easy access to main clinic buildings without having to go outside. Tons of wonderful restaurants and shopping within easy walking distance. Multiple restaurants on site. The Lord Essex Tavern was a delight: food, service, ambiance. Happy hour hors d'œuvres a special bonus! We didn't use the indoor rooftop pool this visit, but my family enjoyed it earlier this year. The lobby area is decorated festively for Christmas! The rooms are clean and comfortable. Onsite laundry a definite plus. Parking lot connects to hotel directly. Our room overlooked the plaza outside decorated for Christmas too. Very nicely priced for such a great location. Staff friendly and helpful. Several things could be improved upon: size of bath towels, update TVs to smart TVs. Thank you.

A very old and elegant hotel. The rooms have been upgraded with modern décor. Even has a nice indoor poor and hot tub. However, there are some flaws. The bathroom has a separate makeup sitting area that has no stool and the mirror is too high. The shower controls are ancient and hard to control going from freezing to scalding. The towels are very thin and threadbare with one having a half dollar size hole in it. The room only has one chair so anyone else must sit on the bed. We chose it because it was reported that is has an underground tunnel to the Mayo Clinic. It does, however all the other nearby hotels are connected by skyways as well so no need to go outside into the weather. Update: last night of 4 night stay we found a live bedbug in the bathroom. Confirmed by staff. We are having to steam and wash suitcases, clothes, coats, everything at home.

Room was clean, but bathroom old with peeling tile in shower. Towels are like sand paper. Temporary arrival area hadn't been cleared of snow very well and it was messy trying to unload and wheel luggage. Also, I was boxed in by other cars and had to wait to be able to get of that area.
