Our stay at La Casa di Amy

The place is amazing with very high ceiling. The host provides snacks, water, drinks and wine as complimentary gift. The place is closed to Trevi Foundain and Colosseum as walking 20 minutes. Overrall, we loved it.

It is a family-run guesthouse hotel, located within a short walking distance of Termini Centrale, Rome’s main train station. The neighborhood is safe, and the hotel is managed by two brothers, Micki and Uri, who are very helpful and trustworthy. They are always ready to provide any information you may need. The hotel is quiet and offers a variety of snacks along with a bottle of Italian wine. We had a wonderful four-night stay there!

Rises above

We stayed in 3 different places similar, but this was our favorite. Not only is the staff friendly and the room nice, but the little complementary items made a world of difference! From being able to make coffee or tea in the room to a razor kit and dental kit waiting in the restroom. They let us leave our luggage free of charge on our checkout day so that we could catch one last tour. If I come back to Rome this will be where I stay.

Close to Termini train station and many eateries. Felt very secure- 3 access doors to get to room. Only thing we didn’t like was that the coffee pod machine had never been cleaned - slimy water tank. Also tea bags should have been replenished daily

Nice place to stay.

We stayed at this accommodation one night before catching train, the location was convenient and the room was nice and the bathroom looked newly renovated. Our room faced the street so there was some noise but we managed to sleep.

This pleasant guest house is a quiet oasis is this busy and chaotic area of Rome. Although just minutes away from Termini, you would never know it. Our comfortable room overlooked an inner court yard and you could hear birds singing in the morning! Coffee, water, snacks and a small bottle of bubbly provided. Staff helpful and considerate. A delight.

My sister and i loved staying at Casa de Amy. We got lots of help to navigate Rome from the hotel, even calling us taxis. It is safe and a great location near Termimi. I would go back again and recommend!

A nice alternative near Termini

The accommodation is a room in a set of apartments in a lovely 1883 building between Termini Station and St. Mary Major Basilica. The location is convenient to public transit, and there are many excellent food options for any time of day. Our room was small, with very little storage space and limited counter or shelf space in either the room or bath. The bath is very stylish, but not the most practical. The shower is quite narrow, and there is little counter space of any kind, but we made do. The beds are more firm than we are used to, but not as brutally hard as in most Italian hotels. We were able to sleep rather well, and there is a variety of pillows to choose from. The linens were very nice, and the room was clean. There are limited electrical outlets in the room, so charging devices could be tricky. The television did not work properly. The walls are very thin, and we could hear every word said in nearby rooms, as well as footsteps, etc. The proprietor was helpful and kind. The biggest problem was having only one set of keys. There are three doors to traverse to get to the room, and the doors lock automatically when leaving, so with only one set of keys it is essential for one person to remain in the room if the other wants to go out on his own. During the day the proprietor is on the premises to open the doors if needed, but not at night, so know that this can be an issue.

Given how they charged me $400 CAD for two nights for two people, there are a number of issues with this property: 1. The actual rooms at the La Casa di Amy does not match the online photos of the room on La Casa di Amy's website. 2. There was no 24-hour front desk service and you would have to call them in advance to obtain service during the night. This is more of a BnB than an inn. 3. The rooms and the front desk are in two different buildings. 4. You have to pay 7€ local tax per person per night during check-in before they will let you go to your rooms. 5. There is only a small area for hanging clothes and the closet is non-existent. 6. There is no door for the bathroom and the water that is expelled during the shower ends up outside of the bathroom. In addition, there is a small step that you have to step on to get into the shower and is a tripping hazard. 7. The amenities in the bathroom is very old and limited. There is only a small old yellowed plastic free standing rack next to the toilet. I will not recommend it to anyone.
