Les Maisons de Pierre in PĂ©rigord offers you Les Maisons d’Antan, rated 5 stars by the Ministry of Tourism, consists of two 18th-century dwellings: La Bergerie and La Mansarde.
They were built from traditional local stone and slate and are certified "Fondation du patrimoine." A local interior designer completely renovated and refurnished them. She emphasized the intimate feel of the space and gave a new touch to the various rooms while respecting the regional spirit, which is evident in the monumental fireplace and the rammed earth floor, among other things. At the same time, a renowned local landscaper designed the gardens.
For the quality of the renovation and decoration, Les Maisons d'Antan has been featured in articles in various specialized magazines, including "Maison de Campagne, Restaurer sa maison...".

As they are composed of two buildings, it is possible to rent only the main house, "La Bergerie," outside the summer season for 4 or 5 people, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Les Maisons d'Antan are located between Lascaux and Sarlat (10 km) in the heart of one of the most beautiful villages in France (St. LĂ©on-sur-VĂ©zĂšre, St. Amand-de-Coly, etc.) and near the capital of prehistory, Les Eyzies-de-Tayac, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Quintessential Dordogne

The property was very well equipped with everything we needed. Great bedrooms and bathrooms and excellent kitchen. Pool was very nice and welcome during very hot days. Easy to get to Saint Genies and Montignac and other nearby villages. Would have liked a larger TV in lounge to watch the Olympics, and a satellite connection that worked. Florence, who prepared and greeted us, was delightful.

Gorgeous Property

Apart from an mis communication between the owner and the housekeeper re our arrival - which was quickly sorted out stay was faultless. The property oozes French charm and luxury with all the amenities that you require. The bedroom are spacious and extremely comfortable all with en-suite’s. The pool was lovely with a large shallow area for the young children. Florence the housekeeper was lovely and on hand to answer our questions. The property’s very remote with nothing within walking distance - however many lovely places to visit within a 40 min drive. The historic town of Sarlet only about 15min away is a must to visit and has a large supermarket petrol station shopping restaurants etc. But if you’re looking for peace and relaxation this is most definitely the place.

Beautiful Home in Great Location

The house was spacious and had everything you would need and more. Very quiet and peaceful and the location was perfect , halfway between Montignac and the prehistoric sites and Sarlat and the Dordogne River. Florence the caretaker was very helpful and responded quickly when needed. Highly recommend

Beautiful week at Madison’s d’Antan

Our group of 10 (6 adults, 4 children) enjoyed a lovely week at this property. There was plenty of space for everyone, and the property was just as pictured. We visited during the “heat wave of 2019”. The house stayed cooler than expected during 40 degree temperatures (due to the very thick stone walls and roof, no doubt) but we were greatful for the pool. The property manager, Florence, met us at check in to show us around and was available to answer questions during the week. We enjoyed the market in Saint-Genies and explored Sarlat-la-CanĂ©da.

An absolute delightful property within a gorgeous part of the world.

The property matches the area in that it is totally unspoilt and very rustic. I can recommend this to any group considering a stay in The Dordogne. Our stay was mid-April when the weather begins to improve. 26 degrees on our final day-perfect!

Wonderful villa of gorgeous old stone -- a beautiful welcome for friends and family

An excellent home with a sense of history, perfect to give every visitor beautifully private spaces (with 5 beds and baths), yet with room to come together for evenings and fun. We had 15 people join us at different times over our three weeks, and there was plenty of room to cook together, barbecue, dine outside or in the kitchen or in the elegant dining room or by the pool. We had gorgeous fall sun by the heated pool, and the house is well equipped, with minor problems quickly taken care of. Some fabulous design -- we just wish we knew more of the house's history. Excellent location -- with a 5-minute (by car) run to the village for croissants in the morning, pretty much everything necessary in the village, close to major attractions (15 or 20 minutes to Lascaux -- 20 to Sarlat). We were thrilled and thank Pierre and Marie.

Lovely Villa

We enjoyed our stay at the villa Les Maisons d’Antan very much. It had a rustic charm you rarely find mixed with modern convenience. The kitchen was well equipped and made it easy to cook every meal but the first one there. The owner, Marie, was kind enough to make our reservation at Le Escaleyrou, an excellent restaurant, only a few minutes away, for our first meal since we were tired after driving from Paris CDG airport. We then shopped at several of the local markets for fresh provisions and tried our hand at French cooking. The caretaker, Florence, was very helpful in showing us around and was quick to answer any questions we had. We contacted her either via email or even called her on the phone. The villa was convenient to all the Dordogne charming towns and attractions. We would return to this charming villa anytime in the future.

Secluded luxurious property with rustic French charm

We had a fantastic week at this property. It has been renovated to a very high standard and the layout of the buildings and the grounds mean there are lots of little corners and areas to occupy as well as large social spaces. The property was very well equipped with towels and inflatables for swimming and everything you would need in the kitchen. We had two young children with us and the fact that the grounds where all closed off and the pool gated made it feel very safe. When we had a slight issue with the shower we called Florence - who was lovely - and the problem was sorted straight away. There a great bakery 10 minutes down the road too and the pretty village of St Genies less than 5 minutes drive - great market on a Sunday morning. The property is very well located and there is lots to do fairly close by although we had 3 days just relaxing by the pool. There is a lake resort 10 minutes away - the water was almost warm and we had a great swim there and had the place almost to ourselves. Sarlat is close by as is Beynac and fantastic gardens which are well worth a visit.

Had a wonderful stay in he Dordoynes in a lovely old farmhouse

Stayed in a 500 year old farmhouse and although being in the country still had great accessibility to towns where we could eat out and explore. Only thing we didn't like was the smell of the farm animals some nights. Would suggest they put fans in the house as on some nights it was very hot. Lovely pool and good laundry facilities. Also enjoyed the barbeque.

TrĂšs bonne location prĂšs de Sarlat

PropriĂ©tĂ© trĂšs bien amĂ©nagĂ©e et trĂšs agrĂ©able. Nous Ă©tions 10 adultes et sa grande surface, son amĂ©nagement et son Ă©quipement ont Ă©tĂ© trĂšs apprĂ©ciĂ©s. Je jardin est bien entretenu et agrĂ©able. Seul bĂ©mol la piscine, pourtant chauffĂ©e, pourrait ĂȘtre plus chaude. La mĂ©teo ayant Ă©tĂ© un peu capricieuse lors de notre sĂ©jour nous n'avons pas pu vraiment en profiter. Une belle location que je recommande sans hĂ©siter.
