Welcome to "La Petite Foiserie", a gite located within reach of the Sables-d'Olonne that we have just bought. Perfectly located to discover the area, "La Petite Foiserie" is also a place that will delight you for relaxation time. Pool (12x6m), park planted with trees (3300m²) and sublime countryside as far as the eye can see; everything here is favourable for relaxation and well-being. Whether you are a couple, a family or a group of friends, you are welcome to our little piece of heaven.
The property is divided into 2. A part 'main residence' that we occupy and a part 'gite' that we offer for rent. The two dwellings are contiguous.
You can fully enjoy our swimming pool (12m x 6m) heated from May 15 to September 15 (depending on the weather the dates may vary). The 3300m2 wooded park has free access and includes a petanque court and a children’s playground (with a swing and a slide).
The outside and the pool are shared with us.
Here you have the countryside as far as the eye can see. Everything is conducive to relaxation and well-being.
Old barn, you will enjoy the freshness of the house at the hottest hours of the day, especially if you have young children.
Whether you are a couple, family or friends, you are welcome to stay with us.
The barn is facing south, with an unobstructed view of the surrounding countryside.
The main room opens onto a large wooden terrace (35 m2), facing the pool, where you can have your meals. You have at your disposal a garden lounge with a table, 8 chairs and an umbrella large enough to protect you from the sun during your meals.
Around the pool are arranged 8 deckchairs for your relaxing moments.
The main room, with a surface of 72 m2, is divided into three living areas: the living room, the living room and the kitchen open to the living room. In the living room you have 2 sofas, 2 armchairs, a coffee table and a wood stove. In the living room, a large table and 8 chairs. The kitchen is equipped with an induction plate, 2 ovens, a microwave, a dishwasher, an American fridge, an electric coffee maker and a kettle.
You have 3 bedrooms: two bedrooms with 3 beds and one bedroom for 2 people.
Different options are available to you :
- bed linen : 20 euros per bed (fitted sheet - duvet cover- pillowcase).
- towels : 8 euros for 1 person (1 towel - 1 bath sheet - 1 washcloth)
- cleaning fee : 150 euros

A beautiful home from home

We had a wonderful 2 week stay here. The cottage is very spacious and beautifully decorated. It has everything you could need. The pool is fabulous - much bigger than we expected and very clean. Sabine and her family were great - on hand if you needed anything, and very friendly, but otherwise we didn’t really see them at all. A great base for exploring the Vendee (especially its beaches). Would definitely recommend!

The perfect house for a family holiday

This lovely house is spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. The owners are very friendly and speak excellent English. Living next door, they were respectful of our privacy at the same time as being warm and welcoming. The highlights for us were the quiet of the countryside (we enjoyed the huge starry skies at night) and the lovely outdoor eating area. The children enjoyed having the freedom to play in the garden and of course they loved the fantastic pool. The location is good - 25mins drive to Les Sables-d’Olonne. Perhaps bear in mind that you would need to drive this sort of distance for a restaurant. We would be tempted to come back to this area, although we’re aware that we were lucky with the weather this time. If we wanted to be sure of temperatures in the high 20s, we might travel a little further south. Regarding our booking experience with Home Away: the website was often slow and frustrating to use (I couldn’t access ‘my trip’ info) and it was impossible to talk to someone on the phone. We were also frustrated by the fact that things like bed linen were not included in the cost of the rental. As I say, this is an issue I would take up with Home Away and not the property owner. Over all, this was a wonderful holiday!

Beautiful and characterful place, fully equipped with top of the range kitchen and wonderful pool

The owners (who speak excellent English) were very welcoming and we felt at home immediately. The villa was immaculately clean and facilities excellent, including a freezer that dispensed ice, much to my children’s delight. As a party of 7, ages ranging from 11 to 89, we all enjoyed our stay. Sandrine has everything to make life easy - bbq charcoal and big serving dishes and saucepans to cater for large parties. The pool is fantastic, large enough for a good work out, deep enough for diving and shallow enough for a paddle. We also found the views over the countryside really lovely, especially the mist hanging over the fields in the morning that we enjoyed from our picture view French windows in the bedroom. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful: The pool was discreetly covered and uncovered everyday and we felt very much like it was our own. Also, our car broke down whilst there and Sandrine generously offered to taxi my teenage girls to the local shops and also fetched a mechanic for us. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful. There is a fabulous hypermarche 10 minutes away and the beach at Sables d’olonne is glorious. It was a wonderful week’s holiday.

Fabulous holiday place, well equipped and superbly presented. Lots of toys and games provided and a beautiful warm and safe pool. Lots of shaded areas for children to play out of the sun when required. Very helpful hosts. Lots of things to do nearby at the seaside but the children always wanted to get back to the villa, the garden swings and the pool.

Beautiful Property without the full relaxation.

The house was beautiful, even better that the pictures advertising it, as was the garden. The facilities were first class and all the beds were extremely comfortable. We even received a welcome pack from the owners with local products on arrival. The down side is the owners property is directly beside the property and there is no privacy between the two properties. The owners always seem to be around when the weather was good and used the pool regularly, as a result we were not able to relax fully. We had asked before we booked if we would have the pool to ourselves and we were told by email that they may use it from time to time but only if we were not around, however this was not the case. On one occasion the owners where sitting in the garden shortly after they got into the pool while my son already was in the pool playing, we were very surprised when this happened as we had been assured prior to travelling the we would have priority to the pool. A main road passes the house and you do hear the occasional cars passing. The only other issue was the third bedroom had a smell of dampness throughout the stay and there was some mould on the walls. Although the house and gardens are of a very high standard, the cost is very high considering you do not have full exclusivity to the pool and gardens. Bed Linen & cleaning charges were also extremely high, however this was clear in the contract. On the plus side the house is very convenient to the nearby beaches (10mis by car) and is set with a backdrop of beautiful countryside.

Rural tranquility

We all enjoyed our stay at this beautifully renovated barn. When we arrived we received a wonderful welcome from the owner Sandrine who also left a tasty welcome pack of local produce for us when we arrived. The living area is open plan, including modern kitchen area with induction hob, two ovens and a dishwasher. There is no shortage of counter space for food preparation. The fridge-freezer is American style and is plumbed for drinking water, along with providing ice, cubes or crushed! There is also a washing machine in the bathroom, along with hairdryers. There is no shortage of plates, cups, glasses etc which are stored in a dresser adjacent to a dining table that easily accommodates 8 people. The living area comprises of comfortable seating, two armchairs and two sofas with a large coffee table in between. There is a large tv, French stations only, and a good sound system that facilitates bluetooth connections to play your own music selections.Sliding glass doors lead out to the deck which also has a table and seating for 8 people and includes a large parasol and overlooks the swimming pool and the surrounding countryside. There are also plenty of sun loungers available on the secluded grass area adjacent to the deck. Privacy is ensured by the planting of hedges either side of the property. The pool is larger than most pools for a property of this type and has a very deep deep end, in excess of 6 foot, which facilitates the diving board there. The grounds are well planted and there is a slide and swings for younger children. The local patisserie is less that a mile away in the village of St Mathurin, and the larger shops such as L'Clerc, Decathlon etc are less than 10 min drive away in Les Sables. Access to the motorways is easy and a short drive from the house. The only slight negatives are the wi-fi is just about adequate and there is only one bathroom/toilet in the property, otherwise everything is perfect. We would have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful property to anyone considering staying in this part of the Vendee :)

Wow! A superb property in lovely surroundings

This is the best property we have stayed in when visiting France. The barn is beautiful and well equipped. It has everything we needed. The area is beautiful l, there is not much in the little village, except the delicious patisserie but you are so close to many other attractions such as the amazing beach at Sable D'Olonne and Puy du Fou. The crowning glory of the property is the pool. Our 2 boys ( 8 and 6 ) were in it everyday and it has a shelf round the whole pool so even in the deep end it is safe. Mustn't forget to mention Plume the dog who also kept the kids entertained! We had a wonderful time and hope to visit again soon!

Très bon séjour

Très bon sejour au calme. Belle vue sur les champs depuis la terrasse. Très beau jardin et bien entretenu. Maison pratique de plain-pied, cependant un peu juste une seule salle de bain et toilette dans la même pièce quand on est nombreux. Cuisine bien équipée. Propriétaires sympathiques et discrets mais disponibles lorsqu’on a eu besoin.

Le gîte correspond en tout point à l'annonce, le cadre est beau, la maison propre, bien aménagée avec une belle cuisine ou tous les ustensiles sont présents. Je recommande vivement cette location.

W/e entres amis mémorable

La propriété se prête parfaitement à une réunion entre amis ou en famille avec la mise à disposition de la piscine, un salon spacieux, plusieurs activités à réaliser sur place (tennis de table / baignade / pétanque etc.). Les photos rétrécissent l’espace, qui en arrivant sur place est surprenant. La situation géographique de la location facilite le séjour. L’annonce est sérieuse et complète. De plus vous pouvez compter sur la gentillesse et l’accueil chaleureux de Sandrine et son conjoint ! Petite note à eux : Encore un grand merci, nous avons passés un w/e magnifique tous ensembles !

Très belle location

Location prise sur 2 jours avec 3 couples d'amis, salon/séjour très spacieux et cuisine très bien équipé. Les chambres sont très jolies et la literies très agréables. Nous n'avons pas pu profiter de l'extérieur au vue de la météo et de la température mais nous aurions adorés ! Sandrine est facilement joignable, réactive et sympathique.Nous gardons cette adresse pour les beaux jours !

Très bon accueil !!

Le seul bémol c'était que la piscine n'était pas chauffée !! Du coup la prestation n'est pas tout à fait la même !! Pour le nombre de personnes, il manque une deuxième salle de bain et un WC. Sinon tout le reste était parfait. La dame nous a reçu avec le feu dans le poêle très appréciable. Merci à vous pour votre gentillesse.

Une pause au calme

Tout d'abord l'annonce : elle reflète exactement les lieux, les équipements, l'environnement... Viens ensuite l'accueil : Nos hôtes sont chaleureux, cordiaux, bienveillants et discrets. Nous avons été fan de leur philosophie orientée vers la qualité, le confort et le bien être des visiteurs. Les équipements de loisirs sont nombreux : table de ping-pong, jeu de pétanque, jeux de sociétés, quelques livres... Le gîte est chaleureux, cocooning, bien décoré et d'un beau volume. Beaucoup de charme ! La piscine est grande, et profonde. Elle est chauffée. Quelques marches permettent de se poser au soleil avant de se baigner. La piscine est entretenue (nettoyée, bâchée) par le propriétaire des lieux, mais tout en discrétion. La terrasse est toujours ensoleillée, il y a un beau parasol pour se protéger lors des repas. Environ 8 bains de soleil pour profiter des lieux et se reposer en bronzant. Ce que nous retiendrons le plus : La gentillesse de nos hôtes et le cadre magnifique et reposant auquel ils nous ont permis d'avoir accès. Encore merci pour ce très bon séjour.
