Arrived 2130 hours, absolutely NO staff around. After waiting 15 minutes, called the hotel. No answer. Waited 5 more minutes, called and a lady said she'd be there in 5 - 10 minutes. Showed up 20 minutes later. Was told I had not booked lodging, had to pull up email from Motels.com showing booking from January/2026. Today was March/2026. Hotel agent had no room set aside, now began a 1.5 hour repeat of her calling, calling, calling to find someone who would swap my reservation. 2 hours 22 minutes later agent finally agreed to refund my reservation payment. Hotel site, grounds and office were absolutely filthy. 3 different homeless people were lounging in the drive up foyer and by looking at the hotel the rooms were poorly maintained. DO NOT BOOK THIS FACILITY!! I finally went with Motels.com. Immediate reservation at a Microtel. Stay there, please. The San Angelo Lodge might be better off if condemned

It's very old, outdated, and dirty. There was a big gap all around the door, which I could see outside. The door barely latched, and i didn't feel safe there. Needless to say, I didn't stay.

When we checked I had to pay in cash because the transaction with. Hotel. Com was pending and so they said the room was not paid for . The room we were given had no TV no phone and the toilet wouldn't flush. The fridge didn't work and the management were so rude and not helpful.

Don't stay here and this should be removed as a option from Expedia. Unable to block the view to inside room from front window since there was a curtain missing. Homeless sitting outside and the building needs to be renovated. Had someone looking through the window and asking for someone named 'Bobby'. Very disappointed with this stay and hope to prevent someone else from learning this the hard way.
