The trip was EXCELLENT!!! The hotel was SUPER - the lobby was decorated perfectly for San Antonio. The staff was so nice and welcoming every time we entered and exited the doors.

If you’re looking to book a river view, look elsewhere. I confirmed this days before our trip, but when all we could see was the pool I was told that “the river is right behind it.” Considering the whole point of the booking was to see the parade on the river, this was a huge miss. I’ve tried and failed to get a refund for the upgraded “view.” Valet was a disaster as well. Breakfast sub par. Room was less than clean. The property has not been responsive or helpful when I’ve reached out about all of this.

We had a great night stay in San Antonio at Home2 Suites. It is shared with the Hampton properties, which was a bit confusing on our check-in. There were three working elevators at all times, so we never had to wait. The hotel was extremely clean. There was plenty of hot water in the shower with great water pressure. The hotel has coffee and tea available at all times in the room, in the lobby, and at breakfast. One afternoon they even had hot cocoa and cookies in the lobby. All of the staff we’re very friendly and helpful, including valet services. We had excellent valet service. The only thing I would ding them in is the breakfasts are separated— Hampton and Hilton. The Hilton side was very lacking, but once I made the complaint, they really stepped it up the next morning. We were also able to eat on the Hampton side. Why they have separate dining facilities that are connected, I do not know. They were so accommodating about it that I didn’t feel like dropping them down to a four.

It was close to the river and everything downtown. Staff lacked knowledge about what was within walking range and the ability to give directions. You need a concierge, if not always, then at least during high-traffic times such as the River Walk Parade.
