La Mansión del Rio doesn't need me to share a review. It's the best hotel in San Antonio and always has been. Anyone who has ever been to San Antonio already knows that. Tips for 1st timers. Pay a little extra for a room with a river view, and request a room on a lower floor (2nd or 3rd). Unlike most cities, the most impressive views of San Antonio are BELOW street-level

I didn’t like the extra 300 dollar fee at check in, wish it was included in the overall cost from the jump but other than that it’s a very nice hotel in a good location

Classy Spot

La Mansión was great. Everything was clean and nice. The location on the riverwalk is probably my favorite part. Our room was not to close to any late night loud music. We were far enough away that our room was rather quiet. Our balcony was nice as well. A two person balcony overlooking the river walk. Our only complaint was that for some reason, after a while of running nice and cool, the A/C would switch to heat. This happened a couple of times through the night so it got a little warm. We got up, switched it back over, and then all was good. The robes were soft, and the towels and linens were clean. The staff was nice. The place was classy. The pool area was very relaxing but could have used a bit of house keeping. We would recommend staying at this hotel.
